Poem
Painful Reflection
The past of another reflects on her face Fearing steps will follow to that cold and hollow place For that place I still see and its to close to let go Should we not walk at all and choose to not know Will the curiosity tare inside till the life in me is dead Burning in my mind these thoughts raging in my head The thought to release them tares at my heart But hiding those feelings is becoming an art But am I cold to feel them or are they feelings from the soul Or has my soul died and inside Im beginning to take the toll And the shadows that hide in the death aren’t helping at all For their the ones that find the pleasure in seeing me fall Even the ones that don’t take pleasure in my failure just watch me slip away Why cant one stay and comfort me, why cant just one of you stay? You have all left me to deicide this on my own ant it burns me to dust Ashes to Ashes and Dust to Dust, the words for which you lust But that satisfaction is one I wont allow you to gain The only satisfaction you’ll have is seeing me in pain And Ill hide that for as long as my sole will allow Not that it matters for I haven’t felt in so long I have forgotten how But then when Im with her my soul seems to lift and a spirit shows life But in my mind burns the question of her reflection full of strife Should I feel with my soul or listen to my mind Will it even make a difference in the end for the both of them bind Or is it just a reflection or does it reflect her inside Is that reflection trying to show me the things she has to hide Im just not knowing where to turn and Im not seeing my way But this seems right now and I wont trouble myself today
