Really? I wondered what tabs were. Thanks.. I know I should learn to read music. Old dog new tricks thing and all...
Thanks for taking the time to help. I looked over at mxtabs....those #'s are frets? okay, glad you told me. I've seen them written with #'s representing which finger to use (they have the frets marked differently), but not this way. I've seen these, but didn't know they were called tabs. Thanks again for the help. It's kind of you to offer your knowledge.

depends on whether you want your amps authentic dirty signal or you want a synthetic one.

If you want to hear what your amp sounds like, just get a channel switch and it'll change your amp from clean to dirty.

Otherwise your on your own cuz i hate using pedals to create my distortion

well...on my Amp...it was a switch for dirty and clean...and the dirty Sucks!...so i got a tubescreamer...

alright, but what kind of amp do you have? you might just have bad distortion cuz u need to tweak the settings.

Also what kind of guitar do you have?

it's a Peavey Rage 158 practice Amp....ive messed w/ the settings enough....... i have an Epiphone SG Special (converted to lefthanded) and a Samick Lefty Strat...

ok then you might want to go with digital stuff or a boss distortion cuz those will make it sound better if it sucks.

If you get nowhere then my best advice would be to get a 30 watt fender amp like my champion 30.

It's good for practice and has really cool distortion (IMHO), if you want to hear it go to the post i made called "My Own Prison" in this forum and listen to higher.

well.....since i already have a tubescreamer that totally Rox!...i dont think i need a new amp... it's just a lil week on the dirty side... but it's not that bad...i mainly go tthe Tubescreamer so i could activate it by foot pedal....

I've just read a couple of reviews on your Peavey Rage 158 and they were all saying that the distortion sucks. LOL.
See if you can get a distortion pedal.
