Shot Down Again.

OK, a few of you have asked if I've asked that girl out yet, so I thought I'd let you know the story.

Today, as I was headed home, I passed by where she works, and saw her car there. I slowly pulled into the parking lot trying to figure out if I had the guts to go in. I sat in my truck for a good 20+ minutes saying "OK. I'm going in now... No I'm not... I'm ready now... Ah f***, I can't do this... Yes I can! Yes I can! No I can't..." Well, long story short, after getting out and standing by my truck for five minutes and sitting back down in it again, I finally went in. My heart was pounding fast and hard, and after some people left, I asked if I could see her for a minute.

I did see her, and quickly asked if she'd like to go out Friday night. She smiled politely, and said she was sorry, but already had a boyfriend.

While on the outside I smiled politely and and said "OK, thanks anyway." on the inside I was screaming "DAMMIT! DAMMIT! DAMMIT! DAMMIT! NOT AGAIN! SON OF A

!!! F***! NOT AGAIN!!! SOMEBODY PLEASE KILL ME!"

Pulled out of the parking lot, and sadly drove home. I should have just gave up earlier when I thought I should. Why do all pretty girls my age have a boyfriend already!

At least she didn't start laughing uncontrollably and finally be able to crack out: "You're joking, right?" Which FYI, has happened to me.

I should just convert to Catholicisim, become a monk, and take a vow of celebesy.

Why does this always happen to me?

I'm going to be single forever.

Yes, Dan is right, Colin, at least you know now and you won't have to agonize about not knowing. Sometimes that is worse than rejection. I'm sorry it didn't work out, though. That does suck.

I am so sorry to hear that, Colin. You will find somebody, I am sure of it. She sounds like she was very sweet and polite about it, so don't consider it as being "shot down", you seem like a sweet guy, and what if she had said yes, and then you met the perfect girl a week later, would you have the heart to let her know you want to date this other girl who seems perfect for you? I bet you wouldn't since you are so nice, and then you would always wonder. So, look at it this way, she may have done you a favor, your "perfect girl" may be right around the corner!

This sucks, however...
...you gotta do your homework first, so you dont ask out girls who are already taken.
Also from what I remeber you've got weight problems... well I dunno if it's reason or not but still deal with it ASAP. if anything it will give you more self confidence.

P.S. and you dont aks to go out on Friday night. you ask out first, than if they say yes you talk about the time and a place.
Also correct way to ask out is "Hey, LETS go out some time" rather than "Do you wanna go out some time?", cuz gotta be asserive.... umm there ya go.

I know you probably don't want to hear this but........... GOOD things come to those who wait! Don't force things, it will happen and most likely when you least expect it! Are you going to college this year, believe me you can find many girls there! You need to find someone with common interests, it makes a difference trust me! I was one of those girls who never lacked for a boyfriend, and it was not all it was cracked up to be believe me!!!! Those girls eventually get sick of the same old type, I know I did! I met my husband at work at a country club we worked at, we both were dating other people and we started out as friends and it took off from there. Don't worry, your a sweet guy it will happen!

Yeah starting out as friends is the way to go, that is also how my husband and I met, through friends that were dating we became friends first. Then we feel in love with eachother. I'm sorry colin it didn't work out for you, don't worry your time WILL come I swear!! Your so young, you have your whole life ahead of you!! Don't look for it and it will happen. That's realy tough. But don't forget to give yourself credit for asking her. Although you didn't receive the answer you wanted to hear, like Dan and Dogstar said, sometimes is worse not knowing how someone feels. I know it's hard to be alone but you're a wonderful guy and you will find the right girl.
