"The Bible says it, I believe it, and that settles it."

On the surface this sounds like a very honest approach to the Bible, doesn't it? I mean, it's saying that God is right no matter what we think, isn't it?

But what if you think differently than I think? Who's right? Same verse, different opinions about it. Someone must be wrong-and I assume it must be you. And so, instead of seeking the truth, I seek instead, to justify and fortify my doctrinal positions. To be right, I may have to discount or even deny the truth-(Oh I'd never do that on purpose, but I do it, none the less.) We wrangle and fuss, too quickly distracted from the very purpose of the verse.

Jesus said it rather simply, "You search the scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is these that bear witness of me (John 5:39)." I memorized that verse and I understood how it applied to nonbelievers, but I was surprised to find it just as appropriate toward us believers.

As we search the scriptures, we cannot simply seek to be right, to find life, we must seek to find Christ and His righteousness.

The Bible is the word about the Word. Don't stop at the verse-believe it and let it lead you to real life in Jesus Christ.

You can be made right with God, through faith in His Son, and in Him you will have abundant hope, life, purpose, wisdom, joy, peace, faithfulness, and love from Him and for your brothers and sisters.

I Agree, The scriptures are made different to everyone I believe That, Everybodys heart is not the same what a scripture would mean to me may mean something else to another soul He searchs the heart and knoweth all things, Like this one the kingdom of God is inside you and all around you!!! That scripture to me has very deep meaning, and unto others its not that its wrong for they way they believe it I just believe in it a little deeper !!!!!!
