I watched this infomercial once at like 3:00am for a acoustic guitar. The guy played with his really long finger nails, i forgot what his name is.

uhm, here it goes...itīs kinda dumb, though...

I think if Hendrix was alive today, living his 20-somethings he would be an average guitar player... the things he did at that time made him unique, but today any kid who plays 3 hours a day can cover that... Plus, today guitar players have many more effects to add...

I mean, I donīt know if itīs true he could play the guitar with his teeth... If itīs true, my theory goes down...

Iīll tell you another example:

In the late 50īs and 60īs, there was a soccer player here called Garrincha. He was famous due his skill, he used to make the other teamsī defense nuts, coz they had to spend most of the game chase him, coz he was fast. At that time, he was pretty much the only one to do stuff like that. And at that time, defense players really sucked.

Today, we see many players who have the same or a better level of skill, but arenīt so distinct. To name a few: Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Owen, Denílson... The defense players are much smarter nowadays, but due their skill they can make fun of them when they get the ball. I think they would beat the hell out of Garrincha, but Garrincha is a myth, coz as I said, at his time, there werenīt any players like him.

I know a soccer example maybe hard for 90% of you, but I couldnīt think better

I get what you're saying and it's true. But for his time he was pretty good.!! It wasn't dumb and I get the soccer stuff too!!

i think the other way Marcos... i think that hendrix would be evan better today... the new effects and other stuff would just help him, and the hendrix live was so much better than the studio hendrix... yeah, he played with his teeth, it was insane...i saw a lot of live videos...

I'm torn between Tremonti and Kurt Cobain. When I lived in Washington, I lived about 20 minutes east of where Cobain lived, seen and been in his old home, blah blah blah....

I'm also partial to Jimmy Hendrix and all other Seattle Bands, and Head from KoRn, and John Mayer.

Holy crap. I forgot about him. I saw him live in 1980, I think, when I was in college. He played to a sold-out auditorium at school. He was awesome, I have to say. I think I still have an album of his on vinyl: "As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls." I always thought that was a bad-a** name for an album. Dang, I got to get me a turntable.

Here's my list of best guitarist:

Mark Tremonti, Edge from U2, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Edde Van Halen and Jimmy Page.

Until I became a Creed fan and heard Mark's awesome guitar work, my favorite was definitely Edge. He just amazed me the music he made come out of that guitar. That's how I feel about Mark now, he's playing just blows me away!!
