There is a song by Garth Brooks called "Unanswered Prayers". Basically you usually pray to God for things you really want, and you don't always get them. But in the end you usually end up with something better than you would've had. If she had said yes and you did go out with her, maybe there was someone else that would be better for you that you'd overlook.

Maybe in your case, but not always. The pretty girls maybe don't have to work as hard, but then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

TURST ME COLIN, no matter what anyone says

you will get that special someone! You want the kind of girl who likes you for YOU, not your looks. Sure the initial attraction is looks that is just human nature, but sometimes even the most attractive people become ugly once you get to know them! Go for someone you have similiar beliefs and interests with, and start out as friendly dating you may get somehwere then! Also try not to set your expectations too high, I have done that a lot in life and ALWAYS was let down, just relax ENJOY YOUR YOUTH!!!!! It will come in time!

I agree with Lechium's last comment. It sucks that girls don't have to do much of anything, whereas guys have to be the ones to take the first step. From what I've learned through the years, girls rarely take the first step. Girls can bat their eyelashes or flash a smile, and guys go over, but how many girls ask for the first date or something like that?
