Re: World Cup 2006

The robot as you've never seen it before...

This is a fine goal by Peter Crouch, but watch the celebration - not bad for a guy standing 6-foot-7.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=w4JNzyugc...Peter%20Crouch

Look at this for creativity.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=96eSrFlUVh0

BTW, England just finished their World Cup warm-up with a 6-0 demolition of Jamaica - Crouch scored a hat-trick!!

Yes, but it's Peter Crouch.....doing the robot.....to the sound of sex machine!! You have to know the player to find it funny. To see him doing that is strangely heart-warming.

At the same venue a year ago he was being booed playing for England - now he's kind of a celebrity.

Re: World Cup 2006

Anyone know where you can get the official merch? The jerseys are made by difference companies (nike, adidas, etc..) So theres got to be a better place than the official sites. I think I might have the best luck checking out the spanish TV Channel.

Re: World Cup 2006

Just watched Spain Vs Ukraine. Spain are the most impressive side I've seen so far.

France and Brazil were lucky in their respective results - what is up with Ronaldo? He looked very lethargic and well overweight - Adriano too. Were the Brazillian fans booing him or the substitution when he went off?

England were great in the first half against Paraguay but terrible in the second half. A fantastic win and if we beat T & T (and we should) we're through - job done. Then we unleash Rooney!!

It seems the Dutch are imploding again. Van Persie has called Robben 'greedy'. This always happens to them. They did look a very solid outfit in their opening game.

I'm looking forward to Australia Vs Brazil and Holland Vs Argentina. Germany Vs Ecuador to (possibly) decide Group A also looks interesting. I hope Luke Wilkshire keeps his place in the Aussie squad.

C'mon England!!

That was sad, Australia was lucky to win that game.

Hey...here we had the same impression...Ronaldo didnt play ...he was sleeping !!!!!!It was evident ...semeed that parreira took so much time to decide for his substitution... but it was definitely the best thing to do...all the newspapers and sites agreed ...and when Robinho started to play seemed taht another team was playing...another match...hope Robinho keeps hsi position next sunday. against Australia...and not Ronaldo.

Re: World Cup 2006

Who has everyone been impressed with so far in the World Cup? I have to say Spain and Argentina.

Ana, what are people saying about Ronaldo in Brazil? He can't keep playing like that and expect to stay in the side. Adriano too. Leonardo has been working for the BBC. Now, I'm a secure heterosexual male but Leonardo....he's a handsome bugger!!

I hope England play Germany in the second round (you all know why ). It would give us great pleasure to knock them out of 'their' World Cup. Then onto Argentina (again, you all know why ). Brazil next (revenge for '02) and we're in the final!! Wishful thinking!

Who's been the surprise package do far?

Humm... Argentina???? Okay..but who Argentina won with lots of goals? Servia Montenegro? I think they are too much confident...well lets see...

Spain...they really impressed me...

About Ronaldo??? People in general are saying that he has some BIG problem...he didnt play well (well a little bit better in this last match....) and everybody is saying he is fat, slow, tired....and as consequence we want Robinho instead of Ronaldo!!!!!!!...Brazil's squad always plays better when Robinho plays...its clear!!!!!!! Hope Parreira (coach) pay attention to this...

Hey we also want to play against Argentina (they are mocking alot about Ronaldo) and you know Brazilians HATE Argentinian
and Engalnd... cuz this way Ronaldinho can re-affirm his talent ...

Leonardo???? Wow..yeah..you right he is handsome lol...even though I dont remember seeing his recent pics (do u have any? lol) but Kaka (8) is actually the favorite of brazilian girls...lol

I don't make a habit of collecting pictures of Brazillian footballers (or any male sportsman)!!

Argentina may have only beat S & M but the goal where they scored after 24 passes was amazing. As an Englishman I can only dream of us retaining possesion like that.

The Argies are the worst offenders when it comes to cheating/diving. The problem is they're so good at it. Remember the 'hand of god' in 1986?

I hope they have peaked too early!
