A Celebration of the Digital Video Disc!
Perhaps that was bit corny, but...
I have a disturbing infatuation with DVDs. I'm a huge film geek, but an even larger DVD collector. I don't know what it is about them... perhaps the slim design, intriguing cover art, commentaries, etc. However, does anyone else collect DVDs... or even purchase them on a regular basis? If so, then this is your sanctuary. Brag, boast, share bargains, etc. I'll start. My collection is just under 200, the pride of my collection being my LOTR: FOTR EE, as well as all seven Walt Disney Treasure tins. I'm currently looking forward to the new 2-disc Casablanca hitting shelves on August 5th, including a commentary by Roger Ebert. Other titles on my wishlist include LOTR Two Towers (Theatrical and Extended), Finding Nemo, etc.

I don't have many DVDs yet, but I'm working on it. I love movies, too, but lately I've been into music DVDs. I've been scouting out a few, but what I have so far is: Alice In Chains MTV Unplugged, Alice In Chains Music Bank (all their music videos plus interviews and old concert footage; Led Zeppelin's new one (awesome!); a bootleg Jerry Cantrell DVD of a concert from 1998 and one of his opening shows for Nickelback last summer; Comes With The Fall Live DVD 2002.
I'm hoping they someday put Mad Season's Live at the Moore Theater on DVD because my video is wearing out. My favorite part is Mike McCready just ripping it up on November Hotel! It's one bad-ass live performance on guitar! For movies, I have about 10-20, among them: Monty Python and the Holy Grail; This Is Spinal Tap; Wonder Boys; The Sound of Music; Bridget Jones's Diary; Bull Durham and a few others.

My husband and I have quite a few movies too. We love watching movies together. We also (I know I'm a dork) are collecting some of our favorite TV shows on DVD. I have all the Buffy's up to the 4th season and we have Angel and The Sheild. We have about 40 to 50 movies. we always looking for good movies to buy and when ever we see one we want we usually buy it.

Yes DVD's Rule!!!! I have a ton as well. Casablanca 2 disk cd set, I am there for sure!!!!! I like the bonus buy sets that Best buy has in the new DVD selection. They have 2 DVD's for the price of one. sometimes you can get some really great films this way! And also sometimes they pair up some ridiculous movies you just have to watch each week!

im not a movie buff, if i buy a movie its because i LOVED it to death. i do collect concert DVDs from all over the world. its even easier and better when you have a multi-region dvd player. or you can hack it like me!

Great movie, even better book.
I bought my hubby the Clint Eastwood collection of Dirty Harry DVD's and he bought me a collection of John Wayne war movies. We also have the Blues Brothers and the Paul McCartney DVD of his Back in the US tour.
