Thanks Teri...my daughter came over, and saw the canister of hard rock candy, and said.. *Man, these bring back memories!* Then I started thinking back to when she was small..

I bake my mom's apple pie, cheescake and of course sugar cookies with the kids!! For Christmas Dinner with my sister I always make potatoes that are soooo awsome!! You boil potatoes, skin em, shred them, add sour cream, cheese and lots of cheese, green onions and bake them again, they are soooo good! I also always make a crab dip that is awsome!!

I bake lots and lots of cookies that I give away as gifts. My list is pretty long, but here are a few:
Mint chocolate chip cookies Vanilla/Cinnamon crispies Russian teacakes Lemon poppy seed cookies (YUM) Toffee bars Peanut butter criss-crosses Peanut butter kisses Peanut butter balls...the list goes on...I LOVE TO BAKE...Plus, I usually make fudge to accompany the cookie platters.

I am a REAL baker especially at the holidays. Although this year I am having a really hard time getting into the mood, no one to bake for I am going to make some things tonight. My traditions are as follows:
-ginger crisps -peanut butter cookie with hershey kisses -Italian pitzells -M&M cookies -Russian tea cookies -polish nut rolls -One year I made a chocolate peppermint cake, it was HUGE it was 3 layers with white icing, and a red velvet cake. I put shaved chocolate on top with crushed peppermints. This thing is a legend, my friends still talk about it! I usually make a big meal on Christmas eve, turkey or roasts etc... then snacks for later on in the evening. Cheese, crackers, appetizers etc.... Then I would make a HUGE breakfast on Christmas morning. I like to make wassial a spiced drink around the holidays. I also like to make brandy slushes...... I have been thinking of these alot lately.

I don't bake, but my mum does and she is in the kitchen pretty much 24/7 in the holidays. She makes Pavalova, Trifle, Chocolate Truffles, etc. Not so much cookies, but cakes and stuff.
We also get heaps and heaps of brought stuff, and she makes my favourite, CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES! They rock. We get like chocolate santas, candy canes, etc. And mum bakes my birthday cake for after Christmas lunch, this year I am having lollie cake! YUMMMMMMM I love Christmas.
