Good anime is rare. They barely ever show it on tv in US.
Chances of you seeing good anime is, therefore slim, yet you're jumping to conclusions, without knowing the topic.

ok, just to please you, i'll clarify by saying all anime i've ever experienced is, IMO, dumb. i'm assuming you don't classify pokemon, yu-gi-oh, and the like as "good" anime lol.
one note, though: often, conlusions are drawn based on generalizations made from a majority opinion. let's say you've got a president whose approval rating is 85%: people would say "americans like him". now, that wouldn't necessarily be completely accurate b/c there still are 15% who either disapprove or have been living under a rock and, therefore, have no opinion. but we, nonetheless, draw conclusions from such great majorities. thus, as you say 99.99% of anime is dumb, i generalize and say "well, since anime's kinda dumb anyway..."

Cartoon Netweork shows Cowboy Bepbop, Wolf's Rain and FLCL (flcl is TOO wierd of a show, really... Beebop is classic, rest are just decent in this pack) right now (scedule as www.adultswim.com), so you might want to check them out.
Aside of that you will not find decent anime in US on tv. Adult Swim is trying hard, but most of shows they run still suck =(

Your approval thing... yeah... you're fogrtting that 99.9% of ANYTHING in thsi world sucks... most rock bands? commerical shit or amatuers. most movies? commercial bubblegum. most paintings? kitch. So art kinda sucks too than?

IMO, this modern "art" stuff is crap. i don't see how dumping paint on canvas is art. i tend to dislike anything kitsch anyway. very unrealistic. so, in sum i don't have a problem w/ the art styles of old (even impressionism, such as Monet's Water Lillies), but this new crap is horrid. and speaking of kitsch, if you don't like it, read Milan Kundera's "The Unbearable Lightness of Being"... it's a little different, but it's a really good book and gets the message across in a unique, entertaining way.

Ohhh Lech, you are not an evil monster I never intended it that way. Geez.... why does this have to turn into something so much more than first intended? I think it is cool, and they are not ugly, how the hell do you think you would all look in the desert on only few hours of sleep if any. I think it is GREAT, good for them for fighting for this country. I respect the fact that they have more balls than a lot of smart mouth skinny shit men to be over there fighting. There is something to be said for detication, drive, and sacrifice..... and that is what they are doing no matter what way you look at it!!!! RIGHT ON GIRLS!!!!!!!!
