This thoroughly pissed me off. Yet another unoriginal basher who can't even write. I suggest that after reading this that every Creed fan e-mail this jerk to dispel yet another misconception of Creed. I already did. He basically blames them for the state of the record industry and so-called modern rock. The only good point he made was that payola to radio stations was alive and well. He lumps Creed in with all the other so-called *corporate rock* bands that have no talent and are selling millions, though he doesn't name any other one. Grrrrrr.

And to put them on the cover with the headline, Why Creed Sucks, is appalling right before they are coming here to play. This came out on Christmas Day to boot.

To the person who wrote the "Why Creed Sucks" article:

Your article about Creed makes no sense. I still have trouble understanding how they suck if their CD was the #2 selling album of the year and went over 6X platinum...not to mention their first CD went 5x platinum. Let's see you try to do that. Also, I suggest you get a hearing aid because they simply DO NOT sound anything like Pearl Jam. Eddie Vedder's voice is the most annoying thing I have heard. His voice on "Last Kiss" is horrible. Scott Stapp's voice is always on key. He is one of the best singer's I ever heard. So if you want to bash Creed, make some damn sense.

Yeah, the dateline thing, I think, was a joke because they are playing in Chicago on the 29th. I think that was the writer's very lame attempt at sardonic wit. He needs to take a lesson from jango.

Hey I would like you to re-write your article b/c mostly it completly sucks. It is so hard to understand and hardly tells why creed sucks. and by the way, does your belief in God affect if you suck or not? Well it shouldn't and I hope you go to hell bc is bullshit you judge them just on their beliefs. also if what you were saying was that they copy their music or it sound simular to other rock music, what music doesnt? almsot all of the artists today get inspirations from somewhere for their music and sound simular to them

please write me back bc i personally think i could write a better article then you even though i suck at writing anything

LOL, Seth. Your friend makes an excellent point that bands almost always are influenced by their predecessors. It's natural for that to happen.
I agree with you about the Eddie Vedder comparison, though I'm a big Pearl Jam fan and love Eddie's voice. To me Scott has found his own voice, and while he may have sounded like him at the outset of Creed's career, he doesn't now, IMHO.

I had to cool off before I e-mailed him. Maybe that will help you get a hold of your thoughts. It's always good to count to 10 before going off .

I took his article apart line by line, though there were some general points about the record industry that I did agree with. It was his lumping Creed in with a host of unoriginal sounding bands that really galled me. Plus, he didn't even mention the other bands.

And the whole Christian/Eddie Vedder thing. Please. Can we move on from this? It is my quest to dispel these misconceptions.
