I'm sure he won't be brainwashed or anything like that. My husband will probably be going overseas later this year. I'll keep your dad in my prayers.

I have two friends over there right now. I hope they are doing OK. I haven't heard from either one in a while ...I'm keeping all the troops in my prayers. This is a tough time, for sure.

I doubt he'll be brainwashed either. I'll keep your dad in my prayers. Hope he gets to come home soon.

I don't have any relatives over there right now, but I do know some people from throughout the years who are over there.

my R.A. in the fall semester is a Marine reserve, and his unit got activated in december (he said he got a call christmas eve)... haven't heard from him recently, but he's been there since march (his unit had about a month of training in san diego before shipping out). sucks too, b/c he was a kick-ass R.A., letting us get away w/ all sorts of shit but still commanding our respect b/c he hung out w/ us alot... our current R.A. is a little bitch, no one likes him much
i've also got a friend who's a Marine reservist, there might be a chance he gets sent over too (he just graduated from training a couple months ago)... he's got a messed up back now, so i'm not sure if he'll be discharged for that, or what...

My dad was paratrooper, airborne sniper to be exact. His last mission was during the Kosovo/Milosavich ordeal and that pretty much changed his out look of things. I dont know if you guys are familiar with the term "river rat"? After Kosovo is when he said thats it, no more of this. I've seen his old war buddies, some of which have been to Iraq and all of them say Iraq doesnt even come close to what they experienced in Kosovo.

Thank you guys~yeah, my dad ran a rifle range and he is an expert shooter to, but that was before he went into reserves. My dad went into reserves after being in the Marines for 11 years. My mom thinks he regrets not staying in the Marines full-time like he was. She also said he always wanted to be in combat~ "well he got his wish"! lol My dads identical twin just retired from the Navy not to long ago.My uncle has been to like almost every country, and he said when he went to Russia it was bad because that country is so poor.He also has many things and pictures from the countries hes been to. My dad has been to many countries, in fact he use to live in Japan. My moms dad he was in world war 2. My Grandma said that he wouldn't talk about the war for many years and now he talks about it more than ever. My Grandpa can even remember what he ate on which days and what he did, hes got a memory like a hard-drive.lol Get this , my parents knew each-other since they were born because they grew up like 4 houses down from each-other, but before my parents got married my dad use to be stationed in California for 10 yrs. and when he lived there he was in a bar and he says to this guy sitting next to him-are u Ed Mcman? He said yes - don't tell anyone, pretty funny! okay let me stop writing a novel!
