He will probably end up like Chris Cornell who can play the guitar quite well for a lead singer but chooses not to be play live. He writes a lot of the music for the bands he is in perhaps Stapp will end up something like that. It would be good however if he could take his guitar for 3 or 4 songs a night which would allow Mark more freedom.

My own impression seeing Scott several times with the guitar last year is that he couldn't figure out how to play and sing at the same time. He did seem to play faily well when he wasn;t singing but usually when he was singing the guitar just hung around his neck until he finally took it off and gave it to one of the roadies.

Not to say he couldn't learn to do it.

Mark doesn't need a background guitar to go crazy... try to get the video for state college show, when he played the wildest solo on Say I.

Tremo can already go nuts now eg: Say 1 at State College as somebody already pointed out but he could do it far easier and on a more consistent basis with Stapp on rhythm for 3 to 4 songs a night. That wouldn't detract from Stapp's poses (LOL) too much and add another dimension to Creed, make them a better live band!

Stapp needs to learn how to sing from his diafragm (sp?) first, to spare his throat. After he's done, it's when you should get excited about him handling the ax.

PS: quitting the tobacco chewing would help!

qutting the tobacco would be a great idea but its his life and perhaps some professional coaching would also be great. Now that Jagger is a little older and hopefully won't get sick as often he won't pass so much on to Scott. Having a sick kid at home when you are wearing out your voice is going to result in hurting your voice and not been able to sing like your normally do.

Jerry Cantrell said in an interview that that was the hardest thing he had to learn as a guitarist. It's really tricky for some people.

It should be okay for him in the studio when he's recording his solo album but for that reason he may choose not to tour that album, but i'm sure Mark and Scott's band will tour! A bit of practise and hopefully he can play rhythm for a few songs a night!
