I agree with the above comments though that the s/t is much better than the second album. I like just about every song on the s/t album. I think I skip one or two songs and that's it.

DRM is a great song even though my favorites are The Curse, Heavens Dead, 1 Zero and Drown Me Slowly. And I also like it more than their fist album.

On the s/t, however, I still listen to a lot more songs of that one, and I don't change the channel on the radio if I hear one of them come on (for Be Yourself and Doesn't Remind Me, I definitely do this)
I hear you! I really don't like Doesn't Remind Me. It annoys me. Be Yourself also is one that I would skip. I do like #1 Zero, The Worm and Your Time Has Come, though. But this album doesn't have the staying power that the s/t does for me. I still listen to that one a lot.

I have almost completly forgotten about their second album where as I play their s/t one all the time. Their new one was too light to me, there wasn't a lot of substance. I enjoyed a few songs off of it, but mostly it bored me. I hope it was just a sophmore slump, if there is such a thing in a band with the experience of audioslave. I'm still looking forward to their new one.

Me, too. They played a couple of new songs on the last tour and from what I heard, they sounded a lot harder. I'm looking forward to the third album as well.

Also back to my last post on this thread, I think the record companies have alot to do with these medeocre albums. You have a band in it's first album produce a killer, clean, marketable sound and it sells like musical viagra. So, logically the record company along with the record producer are going to pressure the band and limit their willingness to go other places and record a clone of the last album. When the getting is good, go for it and milk it they would figure it. Or in other cases you have a band that has been around for say, 5 years and have like 3 albums that have been unnoticed then they record a gem and the record company will hire a producer that is in with the current radio freindly or marketable sound and stunt the band of musical growth.
