I agree with Evyll...I bought the newest one and have only played it twice...be sure to listen to some samples before you make your choice...good luck...

Yeah, I really didn't become a big Creed fan until 2002/2003. I had heard of them and thoroughly enjoyed the music, but I never really delved into their stuff more than what I had heard on the radio. When I did, I found a lot to like about them, particularly their work on MOP.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll definitely check that out. I think my local Best Buy has it, so I'll probably pick a copy up at some point this weekend.

yeah, I just didn't get into them mostly for the vocals, as, generally, I don't like that type of vocals (some of the lyrics are really good, though)...but, yeah, if I were to own a Creed cd, MOP would be the one I would get...the bass really sticks out on that album more than any other...I'm hoping that they mix the next AB cd a little better so that we can hear more of him...

that's cool...it's a good test-the-waters cd, because, if you like that album, you like the Foo Fighters...whatever THAT means...LOL...

Quote: Stapp seems to have a history of creating drama. Today's New York Post reports that Stapp started a major ruckus on the set of "Casino Cinema," which airs on Spike TV. According to witnesses on the set, Stapp arrived "drunk" and "was totally wild on set -- cursing, giving the finger, and dissing Bono and Dave Grohl." According to the Post, the whole brouhaha was caught on camera and will air next Tuesday, Dec. 6. The tirade also reportedly features Stapp hurling insults at the other guests, including Howard Stern's girlfriend Beth Ostrosky. Witnesses say he called her a "bimbo."

After that segment airs, it's all over for Scott.

I can't believe he had a chance to make a comeback and just pissed it away. Drunken fights, drunken TV appearances.... unreal.

I don't think it'll all be over for him, even if he did show up drunk to that show. A lot of rockstars screw up BIG time, far worse than Scott has, and still make music and are successful while doing so(Scott Weiland, for instance). I think if he does have all of these substance abuse problems, and gets help and is really sincere about kicking the habit, he could still be able to be successful. If he doesn't do that, though, it very well could be over for him, and he'll only have himself to blame.

He's had 3 years to get his shit together, clean up his lifestyle and make a comeback. Nothing has changed. He's done.

The difference between Stapp and other RockStars is that none of them pretend and promote to be something they are not, actually most are proud of their rockstarish behaivior which is also good publicity for them now a days. Stapp has to find himself and see who he really is and what hes really doing before giving up substances, substance usage is only one of his many issues as it appears.

I agree, he does promote himself as being different from all the other rockstars. If all the rumors are true, he is definitely still living a double life. I mean Christians do have problems, but the key is to admit it, pray for forgiveness and get help. He's basically going to have to do that, if he ever wants to have a shot at being respected again by the fans. All of this assuming, of course, that he does have problems with substance abuse. Though it looks likely, that hasn't been fully proven, which is why I say "if" so much.

That is one of my favorite aspects of the MOP CD. I love the bass lines.

VERY well put. I JUST signed up to agree with you. But I would like to bring it a few steps forward.

Scott Weiland is not a brawler and a belligerant drunk like Stapp is. Weiland is a junky..a complete junky. The only person he "beat up" was his wife..and that is probably because she is the only person he could win in a fist fight against. But on a more serious side, Scott Weiland doesn't piss all over his fans. There are waaaayyy to many incidents with Scott Stapp totally bitching out fans, and acting like he is technically "Jesus Christ" himself. Without being "nasty" about Mr. Stapp, I'll just paste a article that everyone can read..and after you read it, look at what he has been doing in public.

http://www.christianitytoday.com/mus...tapp-0804.html

The only reason I paste that is it contradicts everything he has done in the past. Before the most recent "incidents"....maybe he was trying to get his life together...but like many of his other comments, I can't help but think that everything he does is a marketing ploy.

And will people stop saying that all these other bands are "copying" Scott's "talent"? Scott copied his "talents" from Eddie Vedder, and Jim Morrison...and to be perectly honest..Eddie Vedder was probably mimicking Jim Morrison...and if you want to go back even farther..that specific style of voice was really introduced by Elvis. You cannot be in "rock" today without having certain influences..and it's obvious that Scott Stapp isn't making all of this up on his own. He is not "coining" anything. He may be talented to a certain degree..but he is no Dave Grohl (Even though I don't listen to Foo fighters..I still have mad respect for the level of talent that David Grohl posseses.) And I use the term "to a certain degree" very loosly.

I used to be a big creed fan when My Own Prison came out..but shortly after that I started hearing reports after reports of real crappy things he was saying to his fans, and the way he treats people. The second they went 5x platinum..I would only assume their heads would get big..but I never hear about Mark Tremonti getting sloshed all the time and dropping the hammer form the top rope.

And another point is.. I understand that most of you who have been huge Scott Stapp fans have a tendancy to stick up for him when he does something stupid. As long as people on this forum understand that true fans will defend him to the death..those true fans have to also realize that Scott Stapp is KNOWN for this type of behaviour. And when people bash him for things (ex. fight with 311..) it's like the boy who cried wolf. If he was not the type of person to do this type of stuff, then I would assume everyone would wait for the verified stories...but that is not the case. People jump to conclusions because usually those conclusions are right. is it unfortunate? yes..in fact, I would have probably been a creed fan if he would have at least understood who and what he was becoming. For someone to do the majority of the things he has done in the past 6-7 years in the public eye..and then turn around and try to deny what he is doing to himself, his fans, and his reputation, it wreaks of pathalogical lying. At least Axl Rose knew he was a jerk, and didn't get on tv acting like he was the victim of the "cruel media."

I am a SS fan, to the bitter end. I'm so disappointed in him right now, it just eats me up. And poor Jagger. I think he needs help, psychologically. I will continue to pray on his behalf. This would have been the best opportunity for him to take the high road.
He has been very choosey in what he's said about Tremonti & co, he thanked them on his album, so he could have come out looking like the bigger man, but now this...
And one other thing, of all people to piss off...Howard Stern? Mercy.

Well Scott Weiland made a grat come back and he's supported by his band VR. And at least he always has spoken to the media to apologize or give any explanation about his addiction problem. Stapp is doing it all wrong: fights, leaving radio interviews where he supposes to promote his album, etc...he needs help for the goodness first of his personal life (his girlfriend and his kid) and after that for his music career.

Yeah, that's sad... I'd like to see how the PBF'ers are going to defend Stapp, like the one and only God he is to them, now...

Yeah, but it's gonna be Goddamn hard for them. I'm not a member of the board, I'm thinking of joining just to read how they have responded to this and hopefully have a good laugh.
