Well, that took a while. Anyway, here are my results:

Economic Left/Right: -4.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.15

Not sure exactly what that means, but I'm essentially smack-dab in the middle of Authoritarian and Libertarian, but just a smiggie-doodle more Authoritarian.

On a side note, I really like that graph at the top of the results page that explains which side left is on, and which side right is. How dumb do they think we are? lol.

yeah... i guess we should sorta clarify the terminology for the non-political science types out there. i'll try & put this fairly simply.
Economic Left: You want the government to have a great deal of involvement in the state economy, in terms of regulation, etc.
Economic Right: You want the government to take a very 'hands-off' (laissez-faire was the term used by Adam Smith in Wealth of Nations) approach to corporate regulation, etc.
Social Libertarian: You want the government to mind its own business as much as possible. Given that the word Liberty can be found in the ideological viewpoint, one could naturally conclude that they promote maximal freedoms for all.
Social Conservative: You want the government to place restrictions on what is and is not socially acceptable, even if it means people aren't 100% to do whatever the hell they please.

My scores:

Economic Left/Right: -0.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 3.18

I dunno about tests like these though. I find it hard to pick between Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree, and Strongly Disagree sometimes. One example - A woman's right to have an abortion should always be illegal if the baby doesn't threaten her life. I would disagree because I think a woman should be able to have an abortion under certain circumstances (such as rape). However I bet because I said "disagree" it gives me "extra points" towards the left. There were several questions like that where I find it hard to answer...

Generally I'm more of a conservative when it comes to economic issues yet I scored just off center (more left) with this quiz. Again I think it has to do with one or two of the questions. One was "The only social responsibility of a company should be to deliver a profit to its shareholders." I selected disagree which again I'm willing to assume gives you a + for the liberal side. Business have other responsibilities as well, but I would rate one of their top responsibilities as delivering profit. I probably should have selected Agree (not strongly but just agree).

I dunno...

yeah, i remember in my american gov't & politics class back in HS, my teacher said one of the good features of a survey or such a quiz is that the middle ground (neither/moderate/etc.) should always be represented in the possible answers. Otherwise, your score is misrepresented. Hence, for that abortion question, I put agree b/c, though I think it should be legal in cases of rape, and that was not mentioned, it, in general, reflects how I feel about the issue.

Word, it isn't suppose to be as close to what you really are, it isn't perfect. But you get a decent idea of what you are. I am not that liberal in real life.

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -0.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.33

That's mine. I, too, consider myself to be more of a conservative, but I wouldn't call myself a Republican or a Democrat. I'm somewhere in the middle. I agree with some Republican things and some Democrat things.
