Depression - Lets Talk

Depression is such an insane thing.

What is the worst thing about it is that u usually have NO IDEA how messed up someone with depresion actually is. U think that u can talk em out of it but when they are at their lowest nothing can change their mind. Whats really scary about that is that they are so overwhealmed by the depression all over them they cant recieve truth. It is so scary.

Last night I was like that. I have depression now and I honestly dont know if I can keep going. But something else has just happened and has made me wake up a bit.

This girl from my area whose family I am good friends with has been suffering from chronic fatique for so so many years and has decided that there was no way out of it and didnt want to be a burden to her family anymore and has taken her own life. She was okay for a while and was heaps wanting to just get better and get on with life again so this is so awful.

I totally know how she felt in her depression. I know when I am heaps shrouded in depression I wish the sensation could just end. Imagine not being able to get out of your bed at all for years. So much more worse.

I'm thinking that I really need to put into place some support measures, like a counsellor, a supportive friend or family member, and for me personally, some mature church members to be accountable to. Also exercise, eating habit changes, sleep patterns need to change too. Also even getting in touch with the mental health team in my area will be hard but perhaps necessary!

I dont always feel down but man, when I do, NOTHING can move it! People in the situation really need to know what to do to stay alive!

Sorry this was so long, but i hope that it or the posts that people put after it can speak to someone out there like my friend's death spoke to me.

You know... I feel this way sometimes and lately its getting a little more frequent...

we all feel that way sometimes sweetheart for many reasons and it does not have to be big or small or larger than life either, most feel alone is why they suffer from it 99 percent of the time i dont think no medicine cant help it it may stop it for a season but like any other drug its going drop you faster down than you were before, but if someone is not geting the proper treatmeant for it the meds are a must

Sincirr, definitely talk to someone, a professional, someone who can help you. You're right about people around you not knowing the depths of your suffering, even if they think they know a person really well. I wish my brother had talked to someone because maybe he'd still be here.
