Should Brett become the new permanent bassist?
Ok everyone!! My first poll!! Do you think Brett should be asked to join as Creed's official bassist for the next album or not?

Well.... I voted YES, If you would have asked me this a year ago I would of said NO! I have seen them early on in the Weathered tour last February and I have to say he sounded terrible at that show! He played with his band Vigos, before Creed came on and they had such a different flavor of music. After the next 3 shows I saw he got better and better! I think with Creed NO ONE will ever match Tremonti, but....... a bassist is nice, adds that extra flavor you need! I could do without the dancing in place at the shows etc.... but he has improved a WHOLE BUNCH!!!!!!! They now seem to have a nice blend, and they seem happy as a group together, I hope anyways!

How can I say this without offending people...
YES!! I want Creed with more substantial and deep bass again. I like Weathered and I think Trem is superb at lead guitar, but he's just not cutting it as a bassist. I think Brett is a great addition -- Creed should get back to it's original, darker, moody music.

I love MOP, yeah I think they should visit the dark and moody side again. That CD has so much substance to it!

Agreed on MOP.
I thought that, musically, Weathered was quite polished. But I thought it was very lacking in the lyrics/depth department compared to the other two. Not to mention the so-so bass. Anyway, I hope the next one goes back to the MOP/HC style, with some great, intricate and well-thought-out lyrics. IMO 1) MOP 2) HC 3) Weathered in that order

Jen I would have to agree with you on what my opinion would've been a year ago. After seeing Brett with them on the SNL appearance, the Billboards, the My VH1 awards etc, I thought, wow, who the hell is this guy with the big forehead. Not sure about him. But Samurai Jack has definitely grown on me.

Just out of curiosity, who voted no? Just wondered why? No arguments or anything, just wondering why not? Do we have a die hard Brian fan that won't let go?

Hey
I have nothing against Brett, I just believe that Brian is a better bassist. When he was in Creed, the music was much more darker and heavier. I just wish that Brian and the band could work out their differences and go back to the original music which got me hooked. Without Brian, their music just doesnt sound as good as the MOP days. I dont think I will ever accept Brett as Creed's bassist if he becomes permanent.

I didn't like him at first either. But I do now. The Virgos had some good deep bass in their music. I hope he influences Creed's music as such. Also, I hope Scott can learn some new vocal techniques from Brett... Brett has a very interesting voice as well!

I went to the 2nd Creed show of the Weatherd tour last year in Birmingham, who knew that I'd get hooked and see them 4 more times last year in different parts of the country. Anyway I saw Brett open for Creed with Virgo's they were ok , but I feel Brett is a better fit with Creed. He plays to the crowd well, he's very talented and keeps your attention, unless your like my wife and to busy looking at Scott LOL.

Ok please don't shoot me everyone
But i voted for no. I have never seen Creed live, so i have never seen Brett, and i really don't know how much of a bassist he is, because i have never heard him myself (even though i've heard lotsa bout him) I just think Creed are fine...i don't want another member because it will look funny with Brett all over the show...i spose it will take abit to get used to but well i just don't know.

I voted yes because he's a decent player and I think he's better at bass than Tremonti is, even though Mark is serviceable. I think it was too much for Tremonti to try to concentrate on both instruments and I think Weathered suffered for it. I, too, hope for a return to a darker, moodier sound. I really missed Brian's presence on Weathered.
