I'm not cheering.

I'm just saying it's too soon to think America will wind up that bad due outsourcing. At first sounds scary, but it'll turn out good.

Yea you said "make" we;re not talking about making. I drive a Chrysler, my mom drives an Explorer, and my dad has his Excursion and Suburban... all american cars all assembled in the states. But the parts are not made here in the US. We're talking about different things.

The reason that tech jobs are being outsourced is due to the fact that its cheaper. Software programmers make 250 - 300 an hour, web designers from 150 - 350 an hour, and the list goes on. Have you seen these comercials for internet service providers that bash AOL and MSN for thier high prices? These that promise you the same internet for under 10 bucks. The reason that they offer the same internet to that low price is due to outsourcing to india. Wallmart does it and so do others. Now I dont know if AOL or MSN do it too. I had a job straight after high school that paid 30$ an hour. My official title was Network Technician but my job is actually better discribed as network architect -- and not like the Col. Sanders guy from the Matrix. It was my job to work with the architects and civil engineers and design a network topography that would work with thier work. We were a huge firm with a lot of jobs.... but then the jobs started to back out. They figured they can fly over a foriegner to do the same job I did and pay him every 6 months the same they payed me for a months work. So again, please excuse my capitalist ways if i put myself, my family and my six-figure salary ahead of others.

I can't argue with that, Mullet. And I can't tell you the future, but there's always something new in IT business.

I'm sure most of those people will find something else in their own market.

yeah, perhaps you should open an IT consulting business! that'd be cool, if you feel motivated to run your own business. That's something I think I'd never do.

I'd rather work in a big company and make my career there. Become a director/executive...
