Eternity Take a walk with me he said With a gleam in his eye I will show you things anew How they will mystify… I took his hand and as we walked The trees gave off a ghostly glow Of sparkling green…a rebirth What else had this man to show Quietly we talked and cajoled With smiles on our faces Just being in his company Took me to exotic places We came upon a river Beneath the trees we sat And whiled away the rest of the day With our friendly chat The birds were brightly singing Mixed with the symphony of the river’s sound The sky was turning crimson As we watched the sun go down One by one the stars blinked on Ne’re had I felt such serenity He slipped his arm around my waist… We named this place, Eternity ©2005 Susan D.
