U2 finally into the hall of fame

It's about time, I'm so proud. Feel the U2 love, baby! This is awesome.

they're vastly overrated, just like the Beatles & Nirvana

i don't think nirvana and U2 should be mentioned in the same breath as the beatles but about time for U2. one of the most successful and consistent rock bands of all time.

This is really good! I'm a huge fan of U2. They're very special to me.
Bono is my first idol

I really prefer the old cd's, but HTAAB really sounds GREAT!!!! it's sounds like in the beginninig and Bono sings the best...
I can't wait to see them alive...again...

they're not necessarily overrated by the same amt. the beatles? least overrated. nirvana? most overrated (esp. since they pretty much started the demise of good music into commercialistic crapola). u2 falls somewhere in between. i guess the one thing i don't like is Bono's brilliant chorus on Vertigo: "yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah..."

Ahh man that's sad, Nirvana are awesome. Listen to the song Aneurysm by Nirvana and you will never say that they are overrated again ... lol.

Lol. It's one song, give them a break. You listen to all of the other tracks, and they pretty much have no repetitiveness, it's beautiful music, and anyway Vertigo was a very different single to all of their past songs, I'm suprised that they released that as their first single to the album, to be quite honest. They have never produced a song like that before, it was a new approach for the whole band. It was a jumpy/rocky beginning and I'm pretty sure we won't hear a song like Vertigo again.

I don't Nirvana can be blamed for stuff like Puddle of Mudd and 3 Doors Down hitting the airwaves. In the case of POM how can Nirvana be held responible for those they inspired? The Beatles are EASILY the best out of all these bands IMO. Vertigo isn't the best work (although its catchy) but any band that can write "One" or any other masterpiece deserves praise. I'm a little scared by some of these ticket prices I am seeing. If I'm facing $200 tickets when they import their show down here I won't be happy.

Nirvana's not directly responsible, but since we can pretty much agree that they (along w/ Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, etc.... altho Nirvana was prolly the biggest of 'em all, & certainly the most "grungy") were the first grunge band and grunge was the beginning of über-seriousness in rock music (after all, it killed hair metal... what's more fun than that?). and when bands like Creed, POM, 3DD, Nickelback, etc etc etc saw they could make huge bucks by writing serious filth 24/7, it just proliferated and escalated into post-grunge and alt-metal and nü-metal.... ahhhh, 3 cheers for the death of the unique, exciting, interesting guitar solo!

lol i've read that and its very funny.....regarding your earlier post it did make rock too serious but again i don't think any of those bands had an agenda to do that. secondly is there a problem in poison and motley crue being has beens at that point? a band like guns and roses would still have done very, very well if axl had not caused the band to implode. besides soundgarden had a lot in common with bands like black sabbath and led zeppelin anyway who were uber-serious.

Aww man! I don't want you to be shitty on our trip! Maybe I should send you over the money, I don't to rip into your bank account, even if I am paying you back ... cause you cant be shitty!

When Kurt Cobain died and Nirvana ended, that was the end of grunge rock. (Apart from Pearl Jam, but even they don't seem to be as grungy as they used to be). I have never heard a grunge band with enough talent to allow me to listen to them, the end of Nirvana was the end of grunge / garage rock. Speaking of Puddle Of Mudd ... ugh. Kurt look alike, Nirvana sounding music ... I hate POM.

LOL RMadd about that U2 page, that cracks me up. (Nice glasses, dumbass) Funny stuff

U2 is overrated... and someone needs to tell Bono to that he's not a politician. He needs to stop snooping around important political summits telling people that he's the only one who's concerned about AIDS. U2's Joshua Tree material was great... now it's bland and repetitive.
