ewww... I hate Carnival!

It´s so annoying...

Mainly coz it´s actually a pagan holiday. Carnival comes from the word Carne which means Flesh. IT´s a holiday supposed to celebrated the wicked desires of flesh. That´s why I dislike it so much. I prefer Thanksgiving much better, but since this is a mainly Catholic country, we don´t have it here.

When it´s carnival here, people drink a lot, get non-sence, people have unprotected intercourse without even knowing their partner...

The worst thing is the music: it´s time for samba, which I can´t stand, although it´s the main stereotype of Brazil. There are parades from Samba Schools for 4 days... and in the 5th day they cast the ballots to choose the winner school. I mean, there´s a "juri" to select it, about 20 people. No populars. Just people who have to due with samba.

The good thing about it is I don´t have to go to school nor people have to go to work until Thursday. So I can take a break Mon, Tue and wed!

And a lot of people leave town during carnival... no traffic jams!!! everything is more quiet!

Sorry to here it's annoying but I'm happy to hear that you have a few days off of school, Marcos. That'll be a nice break. Enjoy your days off and celebrate Carnival in your own way!!

Marcos, we don't have Carnival here in the states. We celebrate Mardi Gras on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. Same principal though, lots of drinking and partying. I don't know about the unprotected intercourse but I know there is a lot of drunken revelry. In the US, New Orleans is the capital for the partying, but there are festivals held all over the country. Then Ash Wednesday comes and we celebrate Lent. In the company I work for we are having a "Get Fit Challenge". Fat Tuesday is the kick off, we get into groups of 5, give ourselves a team name and then we try to lose as much weight as we can for 90 days. We get weighed in, then weighed out after 90 days.

I have never been to Madi-Gras, always wanted to go once in my lifetime, but I am not much of a drinker, I want to go to eat the great food and here the Jazz music!

Me too Jen, my girlfriend from High School and I always said one year we'd make it down to New Orleans for the Mardi Gras but it never happened. She's been there several times (at other times of the year, never for Mardi Gras) and says it's great but I would still like to try to get down there one year. Maybe that's where Creedfeed Fest II could take place.

Creedfest and Mardi-Gras......... that could be VERY fun!!!!!

Well, If I were there with you, we would skip the carnival, and do something special together.. take a walk somewhere quiet, away from all the nonsence, hold each others hands. Get a bite to eat. Go watch the sunset somewhere....And just be....
