Wank-fest. I agree, he is fantastic to watch live because you can tell he is so into what he's doing.

Yeah sometimes he looks like he is making love to his guitar!!!!

I think that the lives shows wont be as spectacular if he goes all out in the album. i like to hear him make extended solos, and stuff like that in live shows, and if he does that on the albums, it mean as much.

Every song doesn't need an extended solo, but it would be nice to hear him cut loose on a couple.

I don't know, I think it would be kinda cool to hear a solo album by Mark.

if you truly like the band and the man, you wouldn't care what other people say.

If they say he's mediocre they've never been to a creed concert, nuff said.

mark has an amazing talent, and yes, he does have some simple riffs and patterns in a lot of thier songs, but think of this.....without the simple guitar parts the more complicated ones wouldnt sound so great! and i agree with everyone who said they were hopeing for some more heavy songs from creed, i am hopeing for another cd like My Own Prison ( I live for MOP) haha

he helps make the songs so its his choice.

Also just because a song is more complex and harder, dosent always mean its better,

and anyways i guess he sort of went a little faster with SHWM, but well just have to see

I don't think Mark's being held back by Creed at all; he writes the music, so he has control, does he not? It would be nice to have him do some more solos here and there. I never really listen to what critics say (that mediocre at best thing is such trash!) I judge it for myself, and to me, the man is a genius on the guitar! His fingers move so fast sometimes (Ode and Pity for a Dime come to mind right away) and it's perfection EVERY time I've heard him (concert and videos of live shows). I'm hoping for some more hard stuff like MOP too, but honestly, Creed is one of few bands I can listen to an entire CD without skipping a song here and there; I love just about every song they've put out, including B-sides and soundtracks, acoustics, etc.

Okay....i didnt read all the posts....so i might be repeatin... but no...I dont thinks so...it takes a lot of skill to write very melodic music that goes well w/ lyrics and vocals....that's what Tru does... let's face it...70% of the ppl that hear creed dont give a flyin rat's ass about the solos....they want a song.... He writes AMAZING SONGS>.....that's an art on it's own....let's face it....writing songs....IS HARDER THAN WRITING SOLOS.....at least good songs anyways...
