Best secondary vocalists?
1.Noel Gallagher-Oasis
2.Brett Hestla-Creed (quasi member) 3.Jerry Cantrall-Alice in Chains 4.Matt Cameron-Pearl Jam (check out Wellwater Conspiracy) 5.Billy Howerdel-A Perfect Circle 6.Dave Grohl-Nirvana 7.Mark Tremonti-Creed 8.Stone Gossard-Pearl Jam 9.Mauf De Mar (sp)-Smashing Pumpkins 10.John Fruscainte-Red Hot Chilli Peppers Hello this is Hide! hi guys this was supposed to be a poll but i stuffed it up! anyhow if you don't let like these options you can choose your own. these are the ones that came to mind. I guess Dave Grohl and Jerry Cantrall will do very well and a few votes for the Creeders will come along as well. Last edited by handmedown : 03-19-2004 at 05:02 AM. |

I definitely have to agree with this one. He has fooled me on several ocassions and has a great voice. You can probably tell by my avie and siggy that I'm a huge APC fan. Billy is also really starting to grow on me.
I also agree that Mark as a good voice but he seems too shy to use it more often. I never really liked Brett's voice, to squeaky high for me. Jerry Cantrall is in a class all his own. I really like his voice.

I don't know about best, but one of the biggest reasons why I love Nickelback is because of the dual vocals... especially in the live show. Songs like Hangnail are absolutely amazing live with Chad Kroeger doing the lead vocals and Ryan Peake singing behind him.

Noel Gallagher is great he sung "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" a show "The Panel" in Australia a couple of years ago(because he wouldn't trust Liam with the PR) and his voice is right up there with Liam's. Jerry Cantrall obviously had some great harmonization with Layne, listen to their Unplugged performance and Jerry is taking on a lot of vocal duties there.
I really like Brett Hestla's voice and Mark can sing well just not confident enough it seems. Hopefully we get hear at least one or two of the demos of the new group with him singing. Billy is great once or twice I have had to make sure that wasen't Maynard uttering those words. Matt Cameron would have the best voice of a drummer around IMO. |

Steve Van Zandt - Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band Robbie Robertson - Bob Dylan and The Band

I love Jerry Cantrell, of course, plus he does a decent job on lead vox as well...Of course, he's not Layne Staley, but he can carry a song on his own. I also love Dave Grohl and he's another one who found a way to do lead and do it quite nicely. Not amazing range or anything, but fairly pleasant. And another go for Billy Howerdel. He is so underrated in APC with everybody paying so much attention [how can you not ] to Maynard.

so when do we get the Billy Howerdel solo album? Brett Hestla should do one as well. And Noel should tell his brother to get stuffed and go out on his own!

Brett Hestla isn't very good at singing. His voice gets too squeeky and it can really irritate you.

LOL, hide...I never liked Oasis...I thought the lead singer...Liam? had a really nasally, whiney voice, at least what I heard on the radio. I think Brett is fine for backup vocals. I haven't really heard any Virgos songs except one, and he was OK. Nothing that bowled me over or anything.

That's exactly what I said about him.
