Jet

Does anyone here like them? There current single "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" took quite a while for me to like it, but it is kinda good. I'd also recomend "Cold Hard Bitch"

Check em out. www.jettheband.com

They're actually a decent band. It's also took me a while to get used to them, but they're growing on me.

They remind me of the band The Hollies.

For some reason, retro has been popular as of late. Bands like The White Stripes, The Darkness, Jet, etc.

i think they are really good but are trying to go for that beatles look. the cover of their album and their video for 'are you gonna be my girl' look exactly like the cover of the beatle''s album 'revolver' and you can tell thats what they are trying to do.

Their style is like the early 1960's. They're not trying to rip the Beatles off. They're just a retro band.

I haven't heard them, but my nephew likes them. My sis says they are kind of poppy.

I kind of like "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" therefore I bought their cd. I haven't had the chance to listen to it yet though. That song is heavily, and I mean heavily, influenced by Iggy Pop. He's basically already done it. lol

Still nothing wrong with influences as long as you absorb your influences and the influences of your influences. Well, that's basically what Bob Dylan said and the man is right.

i'm not really a fan of either of the aussie bands that seem to be doing the best The Vines and Jet. Better Australian bands worth checking out include The Living End, Silverchair, Dissociatives (silverchair side-project) and Powderfinger. The John Butler Trio are also worth checking out. Ditto Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds I can go on, just not Vines or Jet.

You mean to say they haven't been overplayed there? Didnt you have those darn iPod ads?!

When Jet played at the Sydney Big Day Out festival, the girl from the Dandy Warhols came out for "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" to do the tamborine bit and wasn't even close! It was hilarious.

I dont really like them, but their singles are catchy, so they're not bad.

Are you gonna be my girl has grown on me, I don't care for the other song, but I tend to turn this one up and drive to work, etc. when it comes on the radio. I like it.
