Good Movie = The Salton Sea
If you've followed some of the interviews AB has done, you'll note that Mark and/or Myles has mentioned in the past that the song "Burn It Down" was inspired by the movie The Salton Sea, starring Val Kilmer. I just happened to catch this movie on HBO tonight. Wow, what a movie. If you get a chance, watch it on HBO this month, or go to your local video store and rent it. It's from 2002 so it should be in the cheap section under drama or thriller. Once you finish watching it, turn on the song "Burn It Down" Awsome song, awsome movie.

or the uncredited "song doctors" that have assisted him...in any case, Stapp has lots of life FAILURES from which he can draw inspiration (as you can clearly see on his latest opus), so he's clearly leaps and bounds ahead of Mark in THAT category...can't wait to hear his next song of self-imposed persecution about his altercation with 311 or the Casino incident... |

Well to be fair, the Casino incident probably wouldn't spawn the typical "woe is my life" stanzas from Scott. That one would probably have a bit more upbeat version of something like "i tried my best to get laid, yet in the end I was played"
But I'm digressing.... I've never heard of that movie Steve. Sound like it might be interesting (from what you described about it on another bb), maybe along the lines of Trainspotting a little bit. Time to go update my Netflix queue. Last edited by Vliegs : 12-13-2005 at 02:44 PM. |

LOL...um my dearest friends...something is rotten in the state of Denmark...IAMFILTHY, I believe is leading a double life...he has a total of 57 posts as of the timing of my post...and the first three said...
(1) Hey guys,...I'm new here. Just thought I'd say how much I love AB and "In Loving Memory".....it rocks!!! (2) (Review of TGD) I would give it a four out of ten. It in no way compares to ODR. Myles Kennedy has such phenominal vocal range....it's awesome live!!!!!! (3) How can I hear "Ahavo Rabo Taco Salad?".....Love AB and would love to hear something new? For that matter,..is there any other new songs out by AB that weren't on ODR? Not only has his opinion drastically changed, but the syntax as well. Hmm...something is afoot. |

That reminds me of the Lita Ford song, "went to a party last Sat. night, didn't get laid but I got in a fight...*Stapp's yarwling* uh-rrrrrrrrrr-hhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it ain't no big thing" *winks* at ES...

Actually it isn't really like Trainspotting, except for the fact that it's about tweekers. The basic premiss of the movie is a guy's wife is killed by some drug dealers and he evolves into the tweeker lifestyle to try to seek revenge for his wife's murder. Can't say anymore without giving away parts of the story. It's really good though. The movie ends with Tantric's song "Mourning" which really fits the ending. "Burn It Down" fits in great in the beginning and right before the end of the movie.
