I think he should go back to the style he had for the MOP album, I mean come on... the last 2 albums, Creed's songs were all about life being like peaches and cream. The new songs should focus more on the world's dark reality.

I think he should write a song about me and the wonderful friendship that develops into a life-long love affair that we are going to have he he he

I guess that is going to have to happen first before it makes it way into a song.

SO in the meantime, I agree with some of you all that this next album is going to get harder. I think Mark would really like that and I think Scott is ready for it. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if we find one, maybe two, power ballads on there. That is when the depths of Scott's voice really shine and he knows it.

Whatever it is goin to be about for pete's sake I want it to be here already!

I disagree with respect to Human Clay. With the exception of maybe WAWO (because even in this song there are references to his life not being so peachy when he says he hopes his child is not like him) and Never Die, I don' t think songs like Faceless Man, Wash Away Those Years, or What If depict life as peaches and cream. Those songs are all about struggle, internal and external, IMO.

I do agree that overall, Weathered has a lighter feel to it, lyrically and musically. The songs carry a more positive tone, especially Don't Stop Dancing, Hide, Lullaby and Who's Got My Back...That being said, I tend to favor the darker stuff, too, so I'm hoping for more of that on the next album. WGMB is a beautiful song, though...It sends chills down my spine.

Whatever he writes, I just hope it's honest. Honest music tends to be the most compelling, at least for me.

Agree, Agree.

I think that is why Scott is so appealing - he writes and sings from his heart and soul. It is his human experience that we all probably relate to. And that is why they attract such quality fans (like us!) who are loyal and in it for the long haul. We identify with them. If he started writing fluffly stuff, I don't think I would like it as much. I will always like listening to his voice sing - he could sing the ABC's ** and I would love it - but I don't think I would feel as passionate about them if it were too fluffy.

**(Funny side note: my teenager teases me because I always say "he sounds amazing even when he is just counting down numbers" when we listen to "Are you Ready".)

You're too funny Julbright! LOL I would love to hear some harder stuff myself. I like the darker stuff but I also loved the more positive songs that were on Weathered. "Hide" is my favorite. Anything they write that comes from deep in their hearts and souls is good music. Like Dogstar said HONEST music.!
