I have the new Tool and Pearl Jam!

Both albums came out today here so I bought them both. I could have bought them at midnight but I couldn't really be stuffed! The Tool album is really good, although its mostly what they've done before. "Wings Part 2" is just amazing in my view and "The Pot" is a fantastic rocker. I'm listening to the PJ album as I speak. Too early to give an opinion....although not really stand-out songs yet.

Re: I have the new Tool and Pearl Jam!

GAAAAAAAA, I have to wait until Tuesday for both, though I have a leaked one of the Tool one, which is growing on me. I don't think it will ever top Lateralus or Aenima for me, but there are still some songs I like on it. It's just that I hardly ever skip any Tool songs, and I can see myself skipping some on 10,000 Days...Hide, I can't wait to hear what you think of the PJ one. I haven't downloaded the leak because so many people trashed the quality.

Its amazing album, at this moment im rating it higher then Tools latest in terms of enjoyment from myself. Marker In The Sand, Gone, Life Wasted, Comatose are fantastic, and even the rest of the album is, havent found a song ive disliked.

Re: I have the new Tool and Pearl Jam!

I got both yesterday and I'm going to listen to them in a bit. I was out with friends when I bought them, so I haven't had a chance to check them out yet.

Wow, I'm loving the new PJ album. It's like a blend of old and new. Some of the slower tracks are really cool. I've only listened to it once, but I loved Marker in the Sand and Army Reserve. I can't wait to hear this stuff live!

Marker In The Sand is awesome!! I dont think they have pushed any musical boundaries, just wrote an album full of great melodies and catchy choruses. Pulled it off well, everyone seems to be at their best, Vedders voice is still going strong and his lyrics are pretty good especially on Gone.

I agree. It's more of a rocker, that's for sure. And I'm just digging the guitars big time on this.

Re: I have the new Tool and Pearl Jam!

I am by no means a Pearl Jam fan. I really only liked a couple of radio singles and never liked any of their other albums (I have listened to them). This new one though is completely awsome. I love it, listening to it all the way through. I also love Marker in the Sand. My fav song so far is Unemployable though. For some reason I really dig that one.

Very cool, Steve! Marker in the Sand is my favorite so far. It could change, though, hehe. I love that about new albums.

Re: I have the new Tool and Pearl Jam!

I also picked up the new CD. I've only listened to it once or twice(mainly because I've been sick and my CD player broke) but I really enjoy what I've heard. Like Steve, I've liked a few of the radio singles and none of the albums as a whole, so it was surprising that I'd even like this new CD. Coincidentally, my bro also picked up the new CD(this is the first PJ album he's picked up.....never was a fan either) and thoroughly enjoys it. I've seen how the CD has gotten very good reviews, which isn't surprising considering the quality of it. Impressive stuff.

As for Tool....I've never been a fan of theirs at all and so I didn't even consider picking up this new CD. But I guess its getting good reviews, eh?
