VERY well said! Cut the poor man some slack! We are in it for the music! The band members being so cool and awesome is just a HUGE bonus!

Pardon me, for intruding in your conversation, but I'd like to make a comment.
Scott was diagnosed with acute laryngitis the week of the Alcatraz concert after suffering from a sinus infection/cold. His ears, nose, and throat doctor prescribed a steroid, (in the Dexamethasone family of steroids I believe), but I do not recall the exact name. (WindUp Records released a press release from Scott himself to the fans the day before the Alcatraz concert. I believe it was either released on the official Creed web site or in an email to those who are registered through Wind Up and/or the fan club?) Along with voice restriction and rest when not performing. Common side effects of steroids are: depression, mood swings, insomnia, "Moon Face", and fluid retention among many, many others. Scott is fulfilling his record, band, and fan obligations by taking this medication temporarily to finish the tour. (He had to take the same medication at the end of the Human Clay tour.) Some respect in that regard would be appreciated to those who rather put him down. Imagine waking up and looking in the mirror, and instead of seeing your normal face, you see one that is blow out of proportion. Then add that you are a popular musician. This is incredibly hard for Scott because he considers his appearance important like most of us do. The good news is, he can stop taking this medication soon, and he should be back to normal some time after. Also, he has hired a vocal coach in hopes to, avoid this aliment again for future touring. The entire band is tired from the tour, traveling, PR appointments, tv appearances, and performing. One can appreciate the fans concerns about the entire band, Scott in particular. But the rumors of supposed drug use is far from what it really is. Yes, he is on medication, but a medical doctor prescribed it. I think some of you had some really good points too. Just wanted to add to them. Thank you. |

Exactly my point. Many people on this board are aware of the laryngitis and the medication. It's others who are less informed or who choose to make other judgments without knowing the facts that really get under my skin. The board seems to have been infected with this stuff of late.

Excellent point Skipper, Thank you for clearing things up. Scott is always taking the rap for something. Leave the boy guy alone.

Scott's Emotional Rollercoater
Hi guys! This is my first time here. I must say that it's refreshing to see open minded people here. I am a diehard Creed fan and follow the all of the info on them as much as possible. Who can really say what might be going on with them. The only way we could ever know is to take a walk in their shoes. I did read that Hillaree was arrested for hitting Scott in the face with her cell phone due to an arguement about the custody of Jagger. If there is any truth in that, I don't know. Being a mother myself, I can imagine the emotions, such as fear and anger, that are pumping through them. Not to mention all of the day to day obsticals. Just as someone else here said, we are all human, including Scott Stapp. From what I've read, Scott is a moody person. I can identify with him because so am I. That doesn't make you crazy or a drug addict. We just wear our emotions on our sleeves. Whatever the problem turns out to be, nothing could make me change my mind about this band. They have touched my life in more ways than one. I will support them to the end of time, right or wrong!

No intrusion, Skipper. Thank you for offering that information. I just wish EVERYONE would just believe it and get the hell off the subject. This particular subject has become very tiresome. We all love them, we all want what's best for them, and unfortunately someone always has some negative speculation to throw in just to spark some controversy.

I have a solution, seeing I am an RN I should quit my job and take care of him full time, what do you think? I would love to take care of him, cook for him, wash his clothes and even give an occasional massage (oh boy hear we go) No really I would quit my job in a heartbeat and nurse him back to incredible health, seeing I am an orthopedic nurse and everything, I do that kind of work EVERDAY!!!!!! So I guess I should fill out my application hugh?LOL:lol:

No, I'm sorry if it looked as if that were directed at you. It was not. It was directed at the rash of negativity in general. Sorry if you took it differently. That wasn't my intention.

Perfectly good points made, Skipper. I have tried to put myself in Scott's shoes; like you mentioned, imagining looking in the mirror and seeing that your appearance has changed. And I'm sure Scott is sensitive about his appearance. And as I've posted before, it's not like he can just hide out at home until all this blows over. He's got to deal with a lot, the meds side effects, the Hillaree thing, being a daddy to Jagger, and then add all that to the fact that he's fulfilling his obligations to fans, record co., now we're into award shows and holiday special appearances as well! He's taking the meds so we can still enjoy his awesome voice! I love Creed and Scott and can't wait to see them in Philly on New Year's Eve!! Let's support our guys and send them love! :band:

Also, he has hired a vocal coach in hopes to, avoid this ailment again for future touring
thank goodness...i've always wondered why he didn't have one of these. imo...he's not on drugs (illegal that is). part of my work puts me in touch with addiction specialists and i myself have fought addictions in the past (it's really ongoing but i'm better at it now). he doesn't really show the pattern or even seem to have the personality for it. and i can usually spot an addict/user a mile away! give the guy a break. they have a grueling touring schedule which they are trying to keep up despite the problems. they NEED a break.

thanks terib...wanted to comment about how decent ya'll are to one another.
i post on the stp board quite a bit (i'm a stone temple pilots freak too) and they can get really really brutal towards one another over there. you have to have quite a think skin and they scare off quite a few people...like an initiation rite or something. but i am truly impressed about the overall "feel" of this board.
