Still alive...
And doing a little better, I DID talk to my mom, and I may go see a shrink... I'm not sure yet though...

Leader of Men, it's great to hear you reached out for help!!! You really should consider going to the shrink, you have nothing to lose!! They really might be able to help you!! Can you imagine not being depressed and being happy??? Give the shrink a try!!!

 You took the first step and I am very proud of you I agree with Marsly, The shrink may not be a bad idea for you. I have gone once. It was for my evaluation for social security when I started to get my dissability checks. But just going and talking to someone about your problems does help and they will try to give you advice on how to tackle why you are so sad and depressed to

Well right now I am leaning towards NOT going to the shrink... because I do have something to lose... what if he cant help me, then I feel even more alone... and I would have less money...

I'm glad you're feeling better, LOM. I think it's also a very good thing that you told your mom, Julie's right, that's a great first step. I understand that you have to do what's right for you about going to see someone but I just want to share with you some of my own experiences. I've gone to a therapist and I can honestly say it's made a world of difference in my life. I understand that it's scary but if one person doesn't seem to be helpng you, you might need to find someone that you're comfortable with. It might take seeing a few people until you find the right person that can help but in the long run, I don't think you'll regret it. That's just been my experience and I wish you all the best. Please keep us posted on how you're doing.
