normally, I don't like the REALLY heavy stuff, but, in memory of Dimebag, I'm listening to Far Beyond Driven right now...(although, my favorite song on the album is the "Planet Caravan" cover, and it's not very heavy...but, what I love about that song is that it shows that Phil can sing when he wants to...)

I guess so, because this isn't a metal forum, so do your stuff.
I am living lately on melodic black/avantguarde metal.. From Dimmu Borgir, 'thru' Satyricon, to Opera IX and Emperor.... and on the side Type O Negative, and Symphony X (for those who don't know, it's a power-progressive metal band with clean vocals)...

Ooo, I might have to check out Symphony X. I like Dimmu Borgir. I saw them at Ozzfest last year. They were great live. They did a little too much growling for my liking, but the music is killer.

That's actually screaming (since it's black metal). I saw this summer SX and they were a lot of fun!! Also, they are technically very good, so that's good for a change...

Re: Heavy matters... one topic!

LoL so funny all the new terms! Avante guarde metal, etc. Theres sooo many sub-genres in this new generation of metal coming out.

Re: Heavy matters... one topic!

Yes, there is a bunch of phrases/expressions...
For example... Children Of Bodom - progressive/thrash with black vocals...
