Re: the devil and rock and roll

I like to be aware of the things I support in life. It does mean much to me whether I support the devil or not.

Even though the devil is a mythical being he symbolizes evil, that's why I don't understand how so many peace and love supporting rockers(as far as their lyrics say) act like they are evil beings.

Re: the devil and rock and roll

what you are saying is pointless because you even admit that the devil is mythical. so agian what does it matter image does not dictate reality and thats what it boils down to image rock has always been rebelious and having an edge goes with that. so what is the point of the question I mean honestly we have established that the devil is just pretend so where is the problem??

Re: the devil and rock and roll

If the devil is so unimportant then why is he so important to rock and roll?

Re: the devil and rock and roll

He is important because they are using him as a symbol.

Re: the devil and rock and roll

Says Who? Have you ever researched the origion of that sign.... How do you know that it didn't mean something completely different... b4 the 80s? Look at the Nazi Symbol. In anchient Egypt it kept away evil spirits and also used in Native American cultures as a sign of good luck.

Yes I relize you are young, and maybe don't research stuff.. but maybe you should LEARN that way you don't run topics into circles.

Re: the devil and rock and roll

In rock and roll, the devil has played a big role in general. He is in many songs, on many t-shirt, many bands are even known for worshipping him and as far as I know the 'rock on' sign means the devil too so there isn't much left to proof that the devil is a big issue in rock.

Re: the devil and rock and roll

That is fallacy my dear you just come to a non-sequitur conclusion based on what little observation you have. Not to mention it is also a confusion of correlation and causation fallacy. you need to sharpen you reasoning skills.

You thought process is something like this well this seems to be true so this whole generalization I am gonna throw out is now also true.
Did you bother researching the origins of the sign? probably not I can name many rock bands that don't worship, give the sign, or have the devil on their t-shirts the group you are referring to probably represent about 30-40% of rock so how the hell can you say "this mythical being whom I have already admitted to being mythical is so intertwined with rock music I can't tell where it begins or ends" and regardless good and evil are subjective things much as morality is this thread has gone nowhere fast and it is because you keep steering it back to the starting point by ignoring any answer no matter how detailed or simple notice how no one else is responding anymore? It’s because you aren't even considering their replies you are just saying oh well this is how it is why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? I MEAN FUCK YOU ARE WORSE THAN MY TODDLER!

ok so I read through your research and this is the only one where I could find any useful history

the one that links up to a chirstian site is nothing short of useless (most christian sites are when dealing with oh pretty much any subject) but I will say at least you made an effort in trying to find some sort of history on the subject that is if you bothered reading them.
