Which song do you think has the best lyrics?

"Happy Birthday" song kicks these songs ass, in terms of poetic value =)

"It feels so good to reunite, within yourself and within your mind; let's find peace there"
"My Sacrifice" -Creed I found peace within myself, through this song and these lyrics. |

I love My Sacrifice and that line too, creedqueen. Of the songs listed in the poll, I love them all but I think Faceless Man has the best lyrics.

Ehh... My Sacrifice was good, but lyrically it was kinda simplistic. What If is #1 for pure lyrical content, followed closely by Faceless Man... ---- What If: ---- I can't find the rhyme in all my reason Lost sense of time and all seasons Feel I've been beaten down By the words of men who have no ground Can't sleep beneath the trees of wisdom When your axe has cut the roots that feed them Forked tounges in bitter mouths Can drive a man to bleed from inside out What If you did, What If you lied? What If I avenge, What If eye for an eye? I've seen the wicked fruit of your vine Destroy the man who lacks a strong mind Human pride sings a vengefull song Inspired by the times you've been walked on My stage is shared by many millions Who lift their hands up high because they feel this We are one, we are strong The more you hold us down the more we press on.... I love this kind of ripe, dense lyrical content. Very very interesting to listen to!

That one was excellent as well... just thought I'd keep it to the main albums

My personal opinion out of those songs up there on the Poll, What's This Life For. There has not been one time in my life when I have not cried along to that song It's just simply beautiful.

Personally, my favorite lyrics for a song is Say I. First time I read those lyrics in the booklet, I was like "Dude. That's really deep."
"We are incomplete and hollow, for our maker has gone away. Who is to blame? We'll surely melt in the rain." "The stillness is so lifeless with no spirit in your soul, like children with no vision do exactly what they're told." "The world breathes and out forms this misconception we call man, but I don't know him, no, I don't know him, because he lies." Just a few of my faves. H-D

Faceless Man is epic! And the allusions on MOP are awesome, so I call a tie!

Boy this is hard for me but I went with Facelss Man, one of my absolute favorites! But...MOP is a close second, that is the song that brought me to Creed back in 1997!

"Forked tongues in bitter mouths / Can drive a man to bleed from inside out"
With just those two lines, What If takes the cake. The whole song is full of great symbolism and imagery. I like "Is This The End" as well.

I choose Faceless Man, because I feel that its the best because it tells a story. It reminds me of how many of the Led Zeppelin songs not only painted a picture, but told a store. Many songs don't do that. Wash Away Those Years does the same thing. Not to say any other songs aren't as good, its just I like epic songs.
