Accident before Timberlake/Agulaira Concert!!

Today Justin Timberlake and Christina Agulaira (sp?) were supposed to perform in Atlantic City, and during the set up of the lighting this afternoon, a 96,000 pound truss (apparatus that holds lighting) crashed down to the stage. My brother-in-law is in charge of the stage technicians union in A.C. and was under it when it crashed down. Fortunately for him it landed in an odd angle and he was able to jump out of the way but one guy separated his shoulder and another broke his foot. The show will be rescheduled but it was really scary.

My neighbor was supposed to take her kids to the show and she came over this afternoon and told me. My hubby just talked to his brother and he is ok but they are all pretty shaken up. I can't even imagine!!

It so freaked me out because he would've been on top of it during the show! He worked the Eagles show last month and we actually saw him through our binoculars on top of that truss during the show. I was just picturing in my head that happening today and it's just awful. My thoughts go out to those injured, (one from the AC Crew and one from the tour crew) and thank God no one was more seriously injured or killed.

No kidding. That must have been just a sick feeling. You take so much for granted sometimes when it comes to stuff like rigging and all. They do this so often and so flawlessly most of the time that something like that really is freaky.

Don was just on the phone with his brother and when he said it was 96000 pounds I almost fell off the chair. I never realized before how heavy those things really are and while I know it's a dangerous job, I never realized just how dangerous it could be until tonight.

Not a fan of either but thank God it didn't happen DURING the show, that would've been a terrible tragedy.

The paper says there were at least 30 people under the supergrid when it came crashing down. Inside sources say the tour is over. Can't say I'm upset because I'm not a fan, but it definitely could've been much much worse!!

Hey, funny fact. This was the first concert at the A.C. Convention Hall that was sponsored by Donald Trump and the Trump Organization, however, Timberlake was staying at the Borgata with Cameron Diaz, and once the accident happened, they checked out and left town that afternoon. Wonder why he didn't stay at a Trump property?

That is a funny fact, Teri.
The accident definitly could have been worse and I am glad that it wasn't.
I am not a fan either so I couldn't care less if the tour was over, but doesn't Dogstar have a co-worker who is a big Pop Fan, I think I remember her talking about a co-worker who was gonna go to several of Justin and Christina's shows. I bet she is devastated. LOL!

The paper today was full of stories of these little kids who traveled with their mommies and they had broken hearts. The thing that bothered me most was this quote from this little 9 year old boy who said he came to the show to see Christina in skimpy clothes. 9 YEARS OLD How bad is that??? I fear for my daughters in the future!!
