Actually i knew that. This is a religious thing thou, and it does cripple people. Ear piercings are harmless, and if you take earring out later on they will heal in time. Figuratvly speaking -- dont compare scraped knew with severed limb.

My mom let me make my own decision to get my ears pierced, she didn't force me to like some other mom's would. If I ever get married, I wouldn't do that to my daughter.

Yeah, i've heard about female circumcision. I heard they do other stuff as well, like sew it all up so there's only a tiny little hole to pee through, so they know she's a virgin.
I don't see the point of having your baby's ears pierced (although i hadn't thought about it for little baldy girls who look like boys :P ) And even if they have it done when they're little, and when they're older they like it, i don't think it makes it right to do it when they don't have a say in the matter. If they're older and they like the piercing they had done when they were little, then that would be the time when they decide to get it done themselves if they hadn't had it forced upon them earlier. It's like make-up sort of, my mum said i could wear it when i was old enough to buy it myself. And when i could, it was like a whole growing-up experience. What would be the fun if i had grown up wearing make-up? Sorry to go on and on about it, and i hope i'm not offending anyone, it just sort of sickens me...

I would have to agree with you on that Melissa I think that babies shouldn't have their ears pierced cuz it gives a growing up experience to have it done when they are older...it gives something to look forward to Like getting your drivers liscence when your 16

I'm not trying to say that your parents or anyone elses parents are bad for having their kids ears pierced when they are babies I'm just saying that If I have kids I'm gonna wait till they are older till I let them get theirs pierced

Trubabe, no one is making a big deal, they are only voicing their opinions on the subject.
I don't think anyone's parents are bad, I just wouldn't do that to my daughter at that age. I thought about getting my belly button peirced, it just depends. I am gonna decide whether or not I am going to have anymore children first.

I'm not saying parents who do that are bad... I'm just saying that I don't understand why they do it, because I wouldn't do it to my kids. Just my opinion, is all... :embarass:
