The Voiceless (kinda long)

This is to our modern day church. I hope you enjoy it even though its different from what I usually write.

Walk all over me again and give me the reasons why it should feel good
Maybe I'm just not being as accepting as I should
At any rate you think we would have learned our lesson
Giving the answers before we even hear the question
How can we be so vile to the point where I want to die
Cant you even give me the many reasons why?
I'm sorry that you were born without flaw and that I cant look back
I cant promise you a black and white world painted in just solid black
Thank you for finally opening my eyes, I was so blind before
Maybe I sound arrogant, but I don't think I need you anymore

I'm standing firm for the outcast and the voiceless
The ones who weren't given a choice to live in grief or happiness

Don't you belittle me because you feel so insecure in this place
Mocking me and tossing me to the ground to spit in my face
I am the outspoken little man that you thought died years ago
He did die, it was tragic, but he was born again and you just didn't know
When push comes to shove and you use your fists to speak
I just pray your focus isn't upon those that are broken and weak
Our modern day is in such decay and you tell me I have no choice and no say
What if I want something better then what you all want to give away
I find it so tragic when we kick people when they are already as low as one can get
When one walks down their high-school halls and cant help but getting a threat

Little whore on the corner just trying to make a living
Taken advantage of and left with nothing
18 year old girl was so innocent inside
But thrown to the wolves, she died without pride
Cant get any respect from the people that pass her by
People just give a smirk or a scowl when they see her cry

What a world we live in when we turn our backs to the voiceless
Cast out the people that had no other choices

Whatever happened to our anthem that we were all created equal?
Why are we all casting stones when we are all just as sinful?
When did we become so unloving and our hearts become stone?
How can we all leave our fellow man cold and alone?
When did we become the church that only started for the greed, power, and praise?
Running around shouting orders like we have ran out of days

I'm taking a stand and I hope you will take my hand
I'm drawing the line in the sand in this decaying land
I'm not casting anymore stones at our fellow man
I don't even care if I'm the only one, because I can
AND I WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!

the part i quoted was the "meat" of the whole piece...most excellent writing...

i have always wondered why so many "voiceless" are condemned by the very people that should understand them...

It's great that you would write something like this. And to be able to get it so deep. Now if only all of those throwing the stones would understand the ideal of this work, things could be better. Than again,...who am I kidding? This is Earth.
