I think they lost Brian way b4 this so my question is 4 any1 in the know...Who is this Mystery Man ??? Any insight would be great. TY !!! Last edited by TyeDyeSky420 : 05-27-2004 at 08:52 PM. |

that would be Brett Hestla who was touring bassist for Creed for that tour. He was/is the lead singer/guitarist for Virgos Merlot.

last heard i heard he was dabbling in a bit of producing! he really should do a solo album or is it possible he might hook up with scott? signs of a vacant soul is some good stuff, those 3 guitars give a very different sound. don't know about all that make-up though!

Didn't Scott say something like, He would ask Lenny Kravitz if he wanted to help on his album because he lived right down the road from Scott? Now that would be a different line-up if Scott Stapp, Lenny Kravitz, and Brett Hestla got together. All three of those guys can sing. Lenny and Brett could interchange b/n bass and guitar. |

Hello everyone, been awhile since I have posted here. I ran into Brett and his wife last month at the FMF in Orlando and had the chance to talk with them for a few minutes. He is doing more than dabbling in producing. I asked him when we would be seeing him on stage and playing again, and he said not for a long time. He is putting all of his efforts into producing. He said that when you are producing people won't take you seriously if you are still in a band. They are afraid you might leave go on tour, and producing other bands and artists won't be your top priority. So he is putting his all into being a producer at this time. He looked great, and seemed really happy with his choice. Hope that helps. |

Creed actually DID have another guitarist at one point in addition to Mark. I can't remember what his name was, but he left the band prior to the recording of My Own Prison, and he did play with them when they were starting up and playing the bar-scene.
Dang. Why can I not remember his name?? That's gonna drive me nuts for a while. H-D

I believe it was another Brian. Something like Brian Brazier, maybe? |

I personally would love to see more from Brett. I was rather disappointed to hear that he was not going to be in the Alter Bridge side project. Although I love Brian and am thankfull hes back in teh scene, Brett brought a lot of needed material to Creed. Hopefully he'll be with Scott's side project.

MulletMan...Brett won't be working with Scott either. Someone reported it on Pit who's visited the studio where Brett's working on recording a band.
I too LOVED what he brought to Creed...I only ever saw Creed with him, so he was always their live bass player to me. Check out the Virgos albums though...they're great. Path of Least Resistance is just phenominal (I think Bandrags still has it?) Like Sami said, he's mostly doing producing for bands and seems happy doing it, but I think part of him does miss the touring, he's happy where he's at now.

Well, whatever makes him happy... lol... Brett is an awesome musician and I would love to hear him sing again... maybe when he's done producing?
I want to say he's working with Greater Grey right now. I know there's a Brett working with them, but I'm not sure if that's him or if there's another Brett that's maybe in the band or something (I don't know much about them).

Yes, I think Brett is part owner with Justin Thomas Of the studio It's called Gridlock Studios, Virgos was an awesome band, The path of least resistance is a great record , And signs of a vacant soul is great as well.

i didn't feel he was used well enough by creed! he should have recorded weathered with the band and his vocals should have being used more as well. he was an ace up the band's sleeve that wasen't pulled out enough for my liking.
