this might not be the best place to ask due to the age gaps, but im curious. recent internet surveys from techtv, cell phone providers, Cnet, and other online places have shown that people are ditching thier land lines for thier cell phones as thier name phone service. So i ask you all, what do you use more; your cells or you regular phones? as the way things are going [specially with the recent ability to take your cell phone number to any new service of your choice] would you ever consider adopting the techy way and going straight with your cell phone, or will you be sticking to your faithfull POTS [plain old telephone service]?

as for me, i use my cell phone religiously. i canceled my land line and i dont think anyone at home even uses the main line anymore. even my mom uses yer cell to talk to her family in mexico. there is not a single thing that i cannot do with my cell phone. i use it to take, listen to mp3's, use AIM, check my email, check news - sports - weather, send fax, and alot of other stuff that our land lines cant do. im not big on games, but i love ring tones! i have ring tones on my cell that you people cannot imagine, just ask Teri. on top of that text messages!!!! SMS, MMS, EMS -- omg i cannot tell you how much i love em. so many things that can be said and done without even wasting my minutes.

i dunno this might just be me, the ever popular [too much money, not enough common sense] geek, talking. so how bout you?

for those of you wondering, this is my current cell phone -- Motorolla T722i

Since I still am on dial-up, I'd be lost without my land-line. But I love my cell, so I'm keeping both...................for now.

I'm keeping both for now. I have dial-up as well. The other thing is when you call 911 from a land line they get all your info, address, and all that, so they can respond faster. I don't know if that's available with cell phones, so I'm reluctant to ditch it for now. I can say that I use my cell phone a lot more, though. It's basically my long-distance service. I only use the land line for local calls or the internet.

I have dial up as well, so I am keeping both. I don't use my land line for long distance though, just local calls. Plus I have caller ID etc... comes in very handy when work needs me etc... So I will keep both as well!

when you call 911 on cell phone, they automatically get your name and address (billing info) but with cell phones they can track your ass. when i got my first cell, i hit the 9 button hot key several times. one of the times. one of them they got me at a restaurant. comforting sight seeing two officers walk into a pancho asking for mr. onofre.

i have T-Mobile now and i am loving. i got screwed with Cingular so i said fuck it.

my one and only beef is the caller id. i only wish it were like on the land lines.

I didn't know that, Mulletman...Hmmm, if I ever get a high-speed modem, I probably will dump my land line then.

This is my cellphone:

http://www.telephoneart.com/cell/Rai...rble-large.gif

Nothing as hot as yours Mullet, jesus christ, but at least I have one My uncle has your phone, i love taking photo's on it.

I do use my land line phone more than my cell phone, but that only being because I hardly have much money on my phone, and to call costs so much money, I don't see the point when it costs less on your land line phone.. But it is really good for txting, obviously

Mulletman, how do you like that Motorolla phone? Right now they have a $300 rebate on that phone from Amazon, so you would end up making $50 if you buy the phone w/ a cell plan!

Would you buy a cell plan + phone off of Amazon?

i love that phone, its alot better then the one i had before. the one i had before was the Sony Ericsson T300, the free camera phone. i got that one when i opened a plan with T-Mobile. but that T300 fucked up, or i fucked it up, so i got the Motorolla one as an upgrade. its all depends on your area. without a plan its $500, but here in houston with a plan its 150. since i didnt get the Motorolla with activation i didnt pay 150. My ONLY complain with that phone is the lack of IR, Blue Tooth, Wi-Fi ports. all the ringtones and pics i have i hacked in there. but yea, Motorolla rules, best phones out there... if you got the money!

Hayley what kind of plan do you have? do you have pre-paid, contract, or do you just pay as you go?

These are the two next phones that i am currently looking at;
- Sony Ericsson
- Motorolla V600

I'm going with both. I use my normal tele more than my cell. I mostly only use it when I'm out, and I don't use it overly often.
