WAWOF Parent-Child Project with Smithsonian Journeys Educational Travels program
WAWOFoundation presents a wonderful opportunity for parent and 10+ aged children! Please see link for contest details and note deadline of June 10.
http://www.witharmswideopen.org/projectdc03.cfm With Mother's Day just over and Father's Day around the corner...this program reminds us to value parent-child time and presents a great experience for your child (and you)! Participants will be flown to Washington, DC (unless they live within driving distance) on Sunday, July 27. The week will be spent participating in behind-the-scenes hands-on activities at the National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of Natural History, the National Zoological Park, and more! Please share this information with others and show your Creed support for WAWOFoundation's mission ..." to raise public awareness of the importance of healthy parent-child relationships in whatever form they may arise; to provide encouraging support and education to parents; and to identify and address problematic areas that impede the development and/or maintenance of healthy, loving, nurturing parent-child relationships. " (if this was already listed on a prior thread...just consider this a bump

My sister was born in Washington DC, that is great news that he site is doing that. I love what they are about. That would be cool if you could help out Jen. If you get any information and there is any way that out of towners can help, too, let us know.

What WAWO is doing to help families is so very touching. It isn't easy being a parent these days, and there are so many that are trying to raise their kids by themselves. Our society isn't gearing itself to support the changes needed to insure that all the children get a good start in life. Special, happy, one on one time is needed for a parent and child relationship. Many families are so busy just getting by they are unable to spend this quality time together.
Thank you to the WAWO foundation. Thank you also Souldancer for posting this very positive opportunity that WAWO is sponsoring to help make our world a better place for our children. I love children. |
