Flight Attendants

Do any of you know anyone who has a job as a flight attendant? If so, can you ask them how they like it and and how difficult it is to become one? Thanks. PS PLEASE no mile-high club jokes! This is a serious thread.

I knew someone before that was, liked it and then hated it just like any other job. She got to go to really cool places etc... but the politics of working for the airline were REALLY bad. After 9-11 she quit though, too much risk for her.

I worked with a girl who was a flight attendant, Amy. She loved it, but she was based here in my area and they needed her to relocate to the Airline's hub in Detroit, so she resigned. She eventually went back to work for the same airline after she left the place we worked together, so she must still enjoy it. I wanted to go into that line of work when I was in high school but back then, in '85 the actually had height requirements (I believe it was 5'5" or taller) so the passengers could see you over the seats , but now I think it's changed.

DAMN and i had one hell of a Mile-High Club story... oh darn.

I have a family friend that is a flight attendant for United i believe or something like that. I havent heard any complaints from her. The way i figure is it would be like waitressing IN THE AIR! Only now you dont have a place to run and hide and they piss you off and its even harder to jerk off in the asshole's food.

That's what I've heard too Mullett. But at the same time, there seems to be some people who actually enjoy it because of the free travel bonuses. Of course, lately, I'm not too concerned about the relocation problems. Some of the airline's height requirements are 5'2". And I've thought of the danger after 9-11 but I thought I'd just go Jackie Chan on their asses and be the new Jessica Lynch

I don't know any flight attendants, but I do know a guy who is a pilot for United Airlines. Luckily, he wasn't working on 9-11, although he lives in Western Washington anyway, but he knew all the pilots and all but one or two of the flight attendants on the planes that fateful day. It's sad.

H-D

PS- Flight attendants are hot.

That would be cool to be a flight attendant

My neighbour is a flight attendant. She loves it, loves being in the air and travelling...

never heard a complaint from her... she's an all smile girl!

to become one, she posted her resumé on the airline website and after a while they called her for an interview.

Aimee, I have a friend who flies for Northwest. She has always seemed to love it. I will tell you however that she has an education to fall back on, and has taken some temporary leaves, when the airline has had some difficult times.

She does love shopping internationally. She has seniority at NW and can pretty much chose where she wants to go.

At first you don't have options.

I don't know the process for applying now, but good luck.
