It's a pretty tough to call until we get to hear Brett actualy play on an album (if he gets the job). Personally, I think the band is at a real loss without Brian. The bass tracks on My Own Prison and Human Clay were there for so much more than to just fill out the sound, unlike most rock music. They added great texture to the songs. The chorus of My Own Prison is a good example. While the songs on Weathered mostly carry a different feel than the other two albums, the basslines just don't jump out the way Brian's did. Maybe because Mark doesn't have the experience on bass? Too hard to say probably. I'm sure he could probably shred on bass just as well as on the guitar. But anyway, we'll just have to wait and see who plays on the next album. If not Mark, I'd be fine with seeing what Brett does.

i love brian and all, he was the reason i picked up an instrument, but brett has alot of talent and potential that mark, as a bassist, does not have. plus i like how these songs sound with back up vocals. brett has a nice voice.... except for DSD i dunno why he raises his voice....

Well, they'd have to give him credit on the new CD if he played the bass track, and royalties would have to be paid as well. Sure, it'd be nice to see him included in the band more, since he's been with them for a couple years. But since they left him out while doing Weathered, he probably won't be on the next album unless/until he joins Creed permanently.

yes, brain is a far better choice than brett but unfourtunatly brian is not coming back. I would love to have him in Creed still. They would sound better and weathered would not have been as bad as it was but it seems like they like brett and maybe he is a good bassist or maybe he needs to take lessons. I doubt they would go out and find a new permenate bassist never again so brett or mark will do. maybe mark can do the bass still and brett can come in a sing the backup vocals. (or just get jason newsted.... )

I think Mark would do bass again, but he would probably rather focus on guitar on a record and let Brett do the bass. But just think about this. Scott said he's working on incorporating a second guitar part in records to come, and he's already started playing some guitar during live concerts last summer.
But can you imagine Flip - drums, Tremonti - lead guitar, bg vocals, Stapp - lead vocals, 2nd guitar, and Hestla - bass, bg vocals, and possibly a 3rd guitar part (remember Brett was lead guitarist & vocalist with the Virgos)!!!

thatīs a nice shot! do you have it bigger? if you do, could you send it to me? benkenobi, I donīt think so... Stapp gave up of playing guitar during the 2nd leg of the tour, and he played only rythim guitar to Mark shred... Iīm not sure if Brett will be incorporated, if he would, we would know by now... heīs not leaving his band, I guess... but itīs possible he contributes to the next album...

I say yes, but you can't replace Brett Marshall. Brett always looked really mean in all the pictures and interviews I've seen, but he's really a nice guy I would guess.
