AB concert questions

Getting ready to go and see them in one week. Has anyone been able to take camera's in ? I would love to be able to take some great pics, just curious if it was allowed. Also how long are they playing? Any cover songs?
Thanks

Cameras being allowed depends upon the venue. You can call your venue and ask. Either way, if you bring a camera, I wouldn't bring an expensive one in case it gets taken away by security or you drop it (or something).

Alter Bridge plays the entire CD plus a cover of Deep Purple's Highway Star (at least this has been the case for the last several shows).

I was at the Milwaukee show. I took a disposable camera. I was in the center about 15 feet back from the stage. When I started taking pics, I would charge the flash in my coat pocket, bring the camera out real quick, put it above my head, take the pic, and put the camera away. But, no one seemed to care. I got pretty decent pics for a disposable (didn't want to take my Sony digital) and got them put onto a CD as well. I would have loved to have a recording of the show, but that is dangerous, and I'll just wait for a DVD (crosses fingers)...

The show in Allentown was very camera friendly. They did no searching. They said they don't search unless a band asks them to, so I guess they are pretty open about it. I saw lots of nice digital cameras popping all over the place.

They have been doing a cover of Deep Purple's Highway Star (kick-ass, I might add) and their set in Allentown was 12 songs or so.

When I saw 'em in London, EVERYONE had a camera with 'em, and no one cared for it.

The camera situation depends on the venue. Apparently House of Blues venues don't allow cameras at all, no questions asked (even if the band allows them). At The Rave in Milwaukee they usually never allow cameras either. When I arrived at the venue there was no security at all, other then the guy taking tickets and checking id's (for drinking wristbands). I guess they did start checking people right before the show started. There were no security guards on the floor by the stage though so you could have been taking pictures and no security would have seen.

That was actually the first time I've ever been to a concert at The Rave here in Milwaukee where they did not have a barricade up between the fans and stage.

Well, in London they allowed 'em. But when I saw Metallica live in May with 56.000 other 'Tallica-freaks, and the security was THIS high - my friend was still albe to bring his camera with him in without ANY problems!! They're never allowed, but everyone brings cameras!
