__________________________________________________ ______________________ CREED SPIN-OFF BAND ALTER BRIDGE PLAYS ENTIRE DEBUT ALBUM AT TOUR KICKOFF Creed spin-off band Alter Bridge opened its first-ever North American tour last night (Thursday, September 23rd) with a 13-song, 80-minute show at Clutch Cargo's in Pontiac, Michigan. The quartet played all 11 songs from its debut album, One Day Remains, starting with the title track and finishing with the first single, "Open Your Eyes." Alter Bridge also performed an unplugged-style version of "In Loving Memory," guitarist Mark Tremonti's tribute to his late mother. The band fleshed out the show with a B-side, "Save Me," and a cover of Deep Purple's "Highway Star" that was cooked up in sound check on Thursday afternoon and performed even though frontman Myles Kennedy didn't quite know all the words. Tremonti and drummer Scott Phillips formed Alter Bridge earlier this year after Creed split up in the fall of 2003. They brought back original Creed bassist Brian Marshall and recruited Kennedy from the band Mayfield Four. Thursday's show was a bit of a homecoming for Tremonti, who grew up in nearby Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan. Tremonti's father attended the concert along with several aunts and uncles. Alter Bridge continues its tour tomorrow (Saturday, September 25th) at the Odeon Concert Club in Cleveland, Ohio.

Cool, Save Me and Highway Star!! Wished they would've played those songs in London as well!! I wonder if Myles was able to hit the "Save Me"-note live!!
