A new one...


It’s hard to keep track
Of your many faces
Savior or slayer
Do-gooder or despot
Shaman or charlatan
Lover or liar

How you sleep at night
Is a mystery
Your bloodied hands
So swollen from twisting the truth
As the echoes of the fallen
Ring soundly in your ears

You stomp on those
Who refused the fight
Weak soldiers who lay
Their guns at your feet
For fear of losing
Their precious standing

Those who see the chinks
In your suit of armor
Have not the forces
To pierce it and stick
A knife in the sallow chest
Of the Man of Steal

Oh, for the day
When you meet the one
Who will crush you in one fell swoop
And laugh derisively
As your tattered cape
Fails you on the way to hell
