yep you should tell them what is going on, they don't have rules for the sake of it i'm sure. there must be a good reason why they want to do this. how old are you btw? do they know this guy? you might want to do this but have mac over to meet your parents. they'll see that he's a good guy and if not i'm just over the tasman!
