The dentist isn't my favorite person to see either unless it's for a cleaning or a simple filling. I've had people tell me the root canal was more painful for them but with the two that I've had, the crown has always been more painful. Two more visits and it will be done!!
Some of my family have gone to a chiropractor too and they've said the same thing. I guess it just sounds like it would be painful.
