Dude, check out chordfind.com for a chord generator.

You're gonna want to learn C,E,A,D,G,B,Bb,Em,Am, and a few seventh chords for variety. Of course, it will take time to learn these chords, and your hand will hurt, but that's a good thing.

The chords listed above can also be played as power (or 5th) chords that will make it much easier to play Creeds music with, but the full shape chords sound much nicer, and give you the opportunity for more hammer-ons and pull-offs in my opinion.

Check out ultimate-guitar.com for some helpful vids and stuff. Actoguitar.com is pretty good for beginners also.

Chordhouse.com is another generator that works well.
