i highly recommend an australian band by the name of "motor ace" who sadly just played their last show here in melbourne.  they made it big here with some radio singles but i highly doubt anyone outside australia (and possibly nz) has ever heard of them. they sound something like a cross between u2, oasis and coldplay. if you sound anything like those three bands you are doing something very right.
