I searched that Stendl-Rast guy because of your quote, I like it!
And I liked one article of his very much about the true nature of authority with respect to Christ.
But he had another one about evaluating every day by how much you "served others", and that one I disagree with! It sounds good, but I think it will bite you in the rear eventually, if that is your HIGHEST goal. (Unless you just truly LOVE others, in which case, GO FOR IT!)
I'll bet I'd get in a fight with Stapp if we met, I can't totally agree with ANYONE!
