True statement but why?

Because in my case you develop compassion from suffering.

I am glad that I was addicted to alcohol, smoking, drugs because I can help others overcome them and I recognize the reasons why they turn to them before they understand why themselves. You can gently hold up a mirror and show them their own reflection. My life being so hard has made me a better person, suffering and being alone made me turn inward...and I found love there. Now I feel the love externally as well. I am so blessed and so very thankful for my beautiful life and for GOD with me.
